I have checked on https://www.imperialgunnery.com/imperialblasters.htm to try and identify the stormtrooper blaster I have here:

I'm thinking it is a v5 - am I right in my assumptions?

Yes it's the one listed on TIG as V5 - Dark Grey / Black, No Circle on Magazine.
Goes with Taiwan Fett
