Luke jedi knight black snap cape ?

Hello everyone I'm trying to find out some information on this cape on behave of a friend it's a Luke jedi knight snap cape but it's black very much like the prototype one on the back of cardbacks he's owned it for 15 years + , could this be a prototype cape or a known variant ? Please look at the pictures and I'll look forward to hearing your thoughts on it

I'd guess that's a dyed one - the green fastener and brown? thread make it look so

Love this to be wrong, but I'm in agreement with Spoons, looks like a dyed cape
