Was there this morning and it was manic, absolutely packed.

Had my best trooping experience today.

Had the privelge of doing a Starlight Make A Wish visit today.

A little lad who is seven years old and terminally ill wanted to meet Vader and Boba.
He arrived at 10am via a limo with his parents where we had two clones meet him and escort straight through security.
They then led the family to a lift which would take them to the first floor where we had a private room to spend some time with him.
I was waiting outside the lift as Fett on the 1st floor. The doors of the lift open and I say in my best Fett voice 'Antonio, we have been expecting you....follow me'.
I then walk hand in hand with him down the corridor to where our room is.
We go into the room and have a chat and then two Stormtroopers come in, flank the doors and Vader walks in.

We have about 10 minutes with him and give him loads of UK Garrison swag.
He then goes downstairs and meets R2, Greedo, Batman, Catwoman and has loads of photos with us.

We go out the back for a 10 minute rest and that's when we're told he has less than 3 months left....****in choked lads.
Went back out to see him again and I had to hold back the tears as I watch him with his dad having the best time with all the various characters we had there.

Very humbling morning, glad to be part of making this lads dreams come true.

Thats amazing Stu, and I can see why it would be so touching mate. Well done you and everyone else at the garrison for doing that. Its amazing to hear a story like that. It certainly changes my perspective on things and got me thinking about what a lasting impact the films have had and still have on peoples lives. Its amazing that his wish was to meet Vader and Fett (A dream many of us as children might have shared) but the fact that you guys made it happen is truly special.

I was meant to be coming up tomorrow but I think Im going to give it a miss now. Ive just got back from France and have lots of work to do. I was also going to be coming up with someone else but they have cancelled on me so that kinda swayed my decision.

I think Im going to have to save myself for the NEC at the end of November. Lucky its not too far way. Doesnt stop me from feeling gutted though. I love fairs!

Well done again Stu and if anyone is going tomorrow, be sure to take lots of pics!

Got my tickets the other week for this :) No doubt a few from here will be going. Don't want to say any more as don't want to change the focus of the conversation from Stu's above comment

First off all thats a heart warming story Stu, I bet it made the kids day in multiple numbers, he must have felt like royalty being treated like that, I think it would make my day too being escorted by fett :)

I was there today, had a good time and got a couple of kisses and hugs from kyla cole model, will upload pics when i get them, it was a much more relaxed atmosphere i thought than the last couple of events i went too.

Tear jerking for me just reading your comments Stu, you have the pleasure of knowing he has seen one of his dreams come true in the time he has left, you should be giving yourself a pat on the back & be happy in the knowledge that what you are doing is time well spent, I can't begin to imagine how it must have felt for you.

Gotta be a great feeling to be able to do something like that for a child like that. Heart breaking at the same time.

Stu, amazing dude. When I got to the bit about how long my jaw dropped and hairs raised! It's bloody great that you and the Garrison community can do things like that for people/kids like this. What a feeling dude, seriously, to put that smile on his face. I know that when I was young just to see them was something really special and this just topped it all for that kid. You're a great guy Stu and I'm sure that kid has had one of the best days of his life thanks to you and the crew.

Thoughts go out for him, brave fella. :)

Nice one Stu, sounds like you made his year let alone his day, congrats to you and the boys for making so many kids happy with your trooping.
