I think people are going to have to be more careful, but I'm sure everyone is used to checking for repro weapons by now so checking figures isn't that big a deal. And the good thing is no repro will ever 100% match the originals, it's impossible to exactly match the colours, weight, smell etc. If these twats can't even make decent looking cardbacks or boxes yet, it'll be a long time until repro figures/vehicles etc fool people.

The lando in the pictures isn't articulated. He'd have to get all the paint colours and application right, the feel, the weight, as well as the accessories. And then turn a profit to make it worth all of the effort. Never going to happen.

Could you post a screenshot, Ryan, not on fb so this link is closed off for me.

Sorry Emiel, here you go mate. Everything you see here is reproduction apart from the first pic where he asks people to guess which are repro and which are real. I completely agree that to experienced collectors this stuff wouldn't pass for real but there are so many new people in this hobby these days who are going to get caught out with garbage like this.

I'm just shocked at the length this bloke has gone to if I'm to be honest, it seems everything is fair game to be repro'd

Hi,

I've purchased a few blasters only ebay, they all float, but they just don't quite seem right.

Are there other ways to test, I've tried the imperial gunnery and the markings match up ok etc. But still slightly unsure.

I cant see repro figures other than the obvious making it to the market, I couldn't see it a cost effective.
Although I would be concerned about variants, and poch.

Some of those repros look really difficult to tell the difference from the originals and although it's good that they all sink potential buyers aren't going to know that until they're in hand and then it gets into your word against theirs.

Really not good for people collecting these figures and it's only a matter of time before these start making there way toward regular figure accessories. what's going to happen if they ever perfect R2's pop up sabre!

I do not like it, but I am glad all the weapons sinks so most of them can be ID with a water test.
