Palitoy Bubble Sealing Process

Hi there,

Why did Palitoy have so many different sealing processes for bubbles? It went from the waffle seal to the lined seal on the ESB 45B, then to the slick/flat seal on ROTJ 45C. The 65A had a waffle seal again. It then returned to the slick seal on 65C onwards.

What was going on at Palitoy to have so many sealing processes? Were the bubbles that were sealed to cards with the waffle seal assembled in the Far East? This was identical to the US Kenner seal.

Any help appreciated and cheers.

I think it was theorised that some of these were carded in the Far East to get the waffle seal. The rest I'm not sure but it could just be as simple as needing more presses due to unexpected demands and these things would have taken a hammering.
