Due to the mostly positive feedback in my tester thread, I have decided to go ahead with this as a one-off trial. If it goes well, I will do more, simple :)

SUMMARY
It costs £5 to enter. The competition is open to all members apart from me. The prize value will be roughly equal to the total amount of entries. If there are 20 entrants, the prize will be worth £100 etc. The prize will be a mystery vintage MOC. There is only one winner.

RULES
1) Payment of £5.00 must be sent via Paypal gift to [email protected] with a subject of SWFUK1 followed by your username, eg SWFUK1 edd_jedi. DO NOT mention raffle, competition, prize etc in your message!
2) Entries must be made between today (2nd July) and midnight on Thursday 12th July.
3) Only one entry per person.
4) The draw will be made using this website by picking a random number correlating to the number of your entry. So if you send your money first, you are number 1 in the draw etc. I will post and update the list as the entries come in to ensure there is no foul play. There will be no video, you'll just have to trust me!
5) The draw will be made and winner announced on Friday 13th July. I will PM you for your address. Depending on which country the winner is from, the prize will then be bought taking the postage cost into consideration. I will try and get it sent directly to the winner to waste as little of the money as possible. Delivery times will obviously vary depending on country. I am not responsible for any import taxes your country may add.
6) The MOC is random and picked by me. You may post a 'wish list' in this thread, however that does not guarantee you will get anything from it. I will buy it from eBay or RS (not from here for obvious reasons.) You can do whatever you like with it when it arrives.
7) The winner must post up their prize when they receive it.

I hope that all makes sense! Feel free to post any questions in this thread, and good luck! 8)

money sent Edd :D

I'd be up for any ESB card, particularly Zuckuss, R5-D4, Power Droid, original R2, original 3P0 or a 21 back Death Squad Commander

Or any 21 back ESB moc - but not the Tusken Raider

Nice one

Thanks guys, don't forget to add a 'wish list' if you have anything in mind, even if like Silver Grin it's just a particular film, cardback, character etc. I will try and get the winner something close :)

Glad to see the plan came to fruition Edd :D

Just a thought for the mixed reactions re cash or mystery prize - what about alternating it??, one month a mystery prize, next month a cash prize, that would keep everyone happy & with pretty much zero complications - will add this idea on the other thread.

Wish list - baggies

MOC -

Offerless R5's any
offerless DSD's - ESB or foreign
77 back Offerless droids - 3p0/2-1b/power droid/DSD/F-x7/zukus
Pin Head han's

EDIT : can't add to the other post as its locked

Having thought about it, I decided the cash idea is a) pretty soulless and b) pretty pointless, it's never cost me more than £15 to post even a really expensive MOC to a remote part of the world, so I don't see spending ~15% of the prize fund on postage as a massive deal breaker for our friends abroad personally. They'd still get a figure of almost the same value as a UK winner would.

Let's see how it goes though, nothing to lose doing it once.

Sure no problem, you all have until next Friday to enter/pay. The number selected will be completely random so it makes no difference what order you enter in.

I didn't think I'd bother but I'm a sucker for comps - I'm in

any interesting die cast (mailers etc) or moc for me. Not too fussed about Kenner, but even then I quite like ESB stuff. If I had to choose a nice GM 45 back or pal 45 back will suit me fine - or even an ESB character tri-logo

Say if there is a 100 quid pot. And you buy the item and with the shipping it comes to 90 quid. What happens to the other 10 quid? I assume you have to PayPal that as a gift then to the winner also?
So how the **** is that different than just sending the money in the first place if that is what you want? It isn't.
You would have more people go in it...therefor a bigger pot if you just gave people the choice. ie. Let Edd pick you a mystery prize or just have him send the money.
I mean reallly, it isn't hard to work out that is the most logical thing to do here. Especially if you are trying to get "The community" involved and the most people participating each draw.

But what the **** do I know.

The majority of people agreed that handing over cash isn't any fun, and I agree. If all you want is a chance to gamble £5 away, just go on one of the many online casinos, the odds are probably similar!

With regards to the prize, I will use my common sense. I currently do not know what the total fund will be, or what the prize will be. Perhaps I'll under-spend slightly, over-spend slightly, or possibly even buy multiple items. It's impossible to predict at this stage. You either have to trust me that I'm not doing this to con you all out of money and enter, or don't enter. It's completely up to you. What I can guarantee is that the winner will get a nice vintage Star Wars collectable that is worth many times more than the £5 entry fee.

Well remember, for it to be ABOVE board, ALL the prize money has to go to the winner.
Just saying, as you seemed worry about that the other day.

Yes, agreed. Believe it or not, I'm not so poor that I need to scam £5 out of people from my own website mate. I'm doing it as a bit of fun. Will you be heading the charge to reimburse me if I over spend by £5 too?
