Found in a Vintage Toys group...Enjoy

"When u remove them from the package u r living for yourself, not your descendants. More importantly, it allows u to make dioramas in which the figures interact in ****ed-up ways."

"They are toys that were meant to be played with. Enjoy'

"For many, it is about childhood memories. Some people miss the whole meaning of collecting toys." - This one gets me as if she is a goo gobbling 5 year old.

"More power to you mate. As was pointed out earlier, these were meant to be played with."

Now mind you, these were not in relation to Vintage Star Wars toys, but other vintage toys. These people also buy vintage star wars and would have no problem doing the same. Bottom line is do not open toys that have made a 30 year plus journey just so you can wet your pants like a ****ing 5 year old.

I just thought I would bring this up as more new collectors are coming into the game and need to know the damage they do when this becomes their goal.

The first one amused me  Is there some a sub group of collectors that break out figures and make porn vids with them or something? Just what ****ed up ways are we talking about exactly? :?

And why would you need a MOC figure for a diorama, however depraved. Maybe it's to do with the breaking of those seals...

I was basically told that that How can I be a collector and love toys when I clearly don't want to rip open everyone of them. A huge pack of morons and way more than one of them.

How exactly is that a plus point for collector's then, Robert?

Clue: it isn't.

you certainly got your claws out for me tonight,,...

Are you referring to it not being good for collectors as they will have to pay more for it? or something else?

if you are referring to it being more expensive for collectors to purchase items, please give give me an example of any collectible that hasnt increased in price- simple economics..
So, something you had in your collection for 10/20 years, would you be willing to sell it at the same price you bought it for?

Robert.

Sigh.

Collectors care about what they collect. They do not wish to see the items destroyed. Not everyone is in it for the money.

Now go **** yourself.

It's not good for collectors as it means one less boxed or sealed example of an item. The practice is destructive, pointless and stupid. There were millions of these toys produced and numerous examples of loose items. It has nothing to do with price.

The stupidity I read from those quotes Todd riles me up. What group was this?

Then there's a couple of goofball comments in this thread too. IF my collection rises in value, I want it to be because of a love for the toys, not because mine is a survivor while the others get destroyed. Seeing increased value of your own collection in the destruction of someone else's is pure selfishness in my opinion.

So, something you had in your collection for 10/20 years, would you be willing to sell it at the same price you bought it for? yes, possibly.

Robert. I know

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with being a collector who sees their collection as an investment (especially when paying thousands for it). Ultimately if you buy something, it's up to you to do what you want with it; and in the grand scheme of things, there are worse things going on in the world than opening Mocs. I just don't think most collectors who love vintage Star Wars would view rising prices as a silver lining to that particular cloud. If prices keep rising, so be it, but I think most people on here would hope it is for other reasons than supply falling because of people destroying them.

i think we are on the same page , and maybe i didnt express myself clearly...
there were millions of these things produced and 90% of them were ripped open to play with..Those left intact will command a higher price

bottom line is what people are willing to pay which will have a knock on effect to future prices..

And Mr shifter( i still think thats a typo-double tt right)
I will be as boring as you and end all my comments with some sort of verbal abuse - maybe you have that syndrome where you cant help swearing...
So on that note
you go #%&$#"&( with a straw and shove ##&('(%#"(#% till it bleeds.

Father knobert,

Thine eyes do not deceive you but you put as many ts as you want in it.

Perhaps I do have a syndrome. I can't stop swearing when lying, bullshitting trolls keep making stupid comments.

Perhaps you have some sort of syndrome. Have you ever read the secret world of Walter Mitty.

Lots of love.
