When was it?

Where were you?

What were you doing?

I found out about him about mid 90s, me and my dad went to a Star Wars figure convention, where that was I can't quite remember but I do remember it was in the middle of nowhere down muddy country lanes. My dad drove and was pissed! Because we got lost. On the way in they had an old telly showing the old adverts for the figures on loop, the lady who played mon mothma was the highlight of the event. Lots of stalls selling vintage figures. I can remember buying about 20 card backs for 50p each, a dengar baggie for £5 and also seeing blue snaggletooth in a glass cabinet and asking about it, it blew my mind. I also got a free badge on the way out which had something like Star Wars collectors club revenge of the Jedi on it.

Did any members on here go to this?

Have mentioned it before in the boot sale thread and others but was at a boot sale about 1992 and refused a blue snag about this time for£16 as I thought it was overpriced  how I wish I could turn back time but who knew :)

Was the seller a collector (or former collector?) I can't think there have been many US only blue snags found in UK boot sales over the years :?

First heard about them and saw them when I started looking at Vintage SW on ebay in about 2007. I like the fact they were never carded and came in a playset, kind of makes it unique. Pricey though. At one point I was really trying to buy one, passed on a few minty ones for around 150 quid, thought it was too expensive! Wish I'd bloody bought one now.

Reading the Tomart's guide in the mid 90s.

I never started collecting for another decade but I bought that book and enjoyed it like porn.

It would've been through the adverts in Model Mart in the mid 90s. I remember discovering a slew of amazing vintage SW figures (last 17!) and playsets I'd never seen before through adverts in that magazine!

1993 in Steve Sansweet's first book. I had never seen a vinyl cape Jawa, Yak Face or most of the last 17 before either.

I had no idea about the blue Snaggletooth or the majority of the last 17 figures until I started collecting again. I also was clueless about Power of the Force cards and boxes. All the last 17 I bought were Tri Logo and presume it may be possible that Toy & Hobby Wigan didn't stock POTF cards.

Knew nothing about him until I got Sansweets book in 94.

Didn't see one until 99 when I went to my first collectors show in Cheshunt. Saw that and the VC jawa for the first time...both for £250 each!

Back then I thought...that's crazy, i'll never spend that much.

What did I know back then!!

Yes Joe, I saw him quite a lot around at the time, the stall from memory was mostly sw with some other sci-fy he was in his early twenty's at the time never got his name though or if i did i can't remember, I did buy some Jedi mini rigs mint in box off him at the time for not much money, he did say that it was quite a rare figure and think he did explain the back ground at the time, but at that stage I didn't even know much about the last 17 having been older when they came out. Missed out on getting some of them for pence at the time of other stalls as didn't know much about them :)

I forgot to mention.

My boss about 2005 who lived near the modellers loft had a loose collection, he decided to sell up so I bought most of the figures off him for £300, he also had 2 blue snags that he wanted £100 for each but I just couldn't be bothered to fork more out. He stuck them on eBay, one sold for £65 and the other £70 and I was kicking myself a bit. Two years later I came into a bit of money, came home drunk from the pub and found an auction in the states on eBay ending soon so my drunken self thought I'll be getting this cheap but in the end paid £120 for it anyway

I first heard of Blue Snag in the Steven J Sansweet Book - The Action Figure Archive there was a picture of it in the cantina set in the vehicle section in the section of the book.

My first encounter was around 2003/2004 and an ebay seller was selling home made cast (articulated) blue snags on ebay. Each part of the figure was cast and painted and the quality was awful. I returned the figure back to the guy and got a full refund. At the time being a student getting a blue snag was still too much money for me so this seamed like a viable option.

Some months later, I was searching the newly listed items on Ebay and there was one listed at a buy it now price for $40 from the US + shipping. I snapped it up straight away I remember green the page counter only having 1 view, also shipping was reasonable and exchange rates were decent back then. Was dead chuffed when it arrived and it's still in the collection today, play worn yes but was over the moon with it. I actually think it was one the best deals I got on eBay in all my years using the site.

Around 1979... Mom took me to a garage sale. There were tons of Star Wars toys there .The kid must have out grown them. Anyways at the time their prices were high for a garage sale ..so I could only pick one figure.. I picked the odd looking one... Blue snags.
