Thanks Lars, this is one of my favourites and I'm only missing the Harbert version - which is an amazing piece. Not much screen accuracy to either the die cast or large sized DV TIE bodies, but at least Darth is driving

These are the regular Kenner (which I've still never got round to replacing for one without a sticker tear) Kenner Canada and Palitoy. The two small wing TIEs made it a long way into preproduction but were replaced with the larger wings just before going on general sale. The Darth Vader TIE card is actually an unproduced version with a smaller bubble area and no Boba Fett on the back. The Canada DV TIE kept this design despite having a larger bubble - although their card has the dual language text. The test on the regular TIE card looks great but I really like the unproduced Vader card. A great bit of history

An outstanding post packed with great info and pictures, Andy! Although I've never collected die cast myself, I do think they look great, so thank you for sharing yours :)

I knew we could all trust in you Andy with your various examples and once again you didn't disappoint :D

Great collection and knowledge and these have been a weekly highlight on here Lars so keep up the great work! I'll be posting again soon enough and I'll try to go back to a few of the earlier posts and add to them.

Thanks guys. There haven't been many recent threads I could chime in on so more than happy that this came up. You should all treat yourselves to a DV TIE, Kenner are usually found for around $100 carded

Here's mine. Picked it up from a local flea market for $10.
