Apologies if this is a stupid question

Can anyone enlighten me to the question I have a Leia organa 20 back in my collection that I am resealing

Noticed that on this one there is a double thin plastic shaped piece inside the bubble laid accross the blue bubble area, with circular area cut out/melted 2 thirds of the way down

Is this original, and what was the reason for it?

Anyone any ideas?

I have attached a pic to show what I mean

Earlier carded figures with vinyl capes often came with these transparent plastic sheets glued behind the figures. I guess Kenner thought the capes might stick to the cards or get marked in some way. They obviously changed their view on this later on in the line though as these sheets eventually disappeared.

Many thanks bud, great info.

I purchased this 20 back from the US and obviously as it was for a reseal project needed to know what this film was for and that it was original
Many thanks, every day is a school day for me

You're welcome :)

With loose cardbacks you often see a tear in the coloured background where these sheets have been ripped off, although if you're lucky they can still be attached.
