What item did you get for a bargain because of a flaw?

I'm still on the lookout for a cardback for its nameplate, and it made me wonder what item(s) have you managed to get for a bargain just because of a little bit of damage or a flaw?

I paid 1/10th the price of what a C8 condition one of these would go for. Fully sealed, just missing the name plate. Was sold with this printed one for display.

You had a result there mate, lovely card. I've had a few things like that. I got this Obi-Wan card with a slit down the side of the bubble for about a tenner I think and the figure for 15. A good 1/6 the price of a sealed one, looks just like a Moc. Also recently got a Han Carbonite sealed in a repro card (a definite flaw in my eyes  ) for 30 quid.

Nice idea for a topic and nice, rare Dengar 8)

I've picked up a few over the last 12 months but my £5 Darth Vader with lettered saber is probably the best as a % saving. The only issue is a tear in his cloak above the saber arm

Great deal and you could so fix that name plate with another card back, it would be an easy fix and look really nice :D

Bargains! Nice cards- gotta love that Dengar 8) Nice Vader, Carl.

Here's my large head Palitoy 12-bk Han. Had 'pen marks' on the logo and the bottom end of the bubble had come away slightly. The marks turned out to be pencil, which I just rubbed out  Smidge over £200.

I'm not familiar with a lettered saber. What is that?

Been on the lookout for several months. Seems to be the only card not coming up for sale. Got some new scalpel blades ready for the job.

Amazed no one has figured a way to invisibly repair sliced bubbles :)

On the hilt of earlier Sabers you can find different letters. Here's a good info thread on the Imperial Gunnery forum:

Mine is an E

I think that could be tricky due to how thin they are. If it's a clean cut down the side or even two or three sides a tiny bit of sellotape does the trick just to hold it in place, it's virtually invisible. Put in a case and you wouldn't even know. Looks better than a reseal because the seal and card are intact and original.

Great thread, I'm always after items with major flaws for a knockdown price. MOCs with neatly removed pops are always a lot cheaper and I've picked a few of them up. I have to say though badly dented bubbles and cracked bubbles really put me off whatever the price.

Low graded items items seem to find me as well. I have a badly creased 31A Bossk, which is AFA 50 I think. Got it for £250 which I thought was a very good price. The bubble is mint but the card has some bad creases.

These are my most recent, less than perfect acquisitions
