As the year draws to a close I thought it might be fun to see your best buys!

It could be a ridiculous bargain, a present, a childhood favourite, a long sought after Grail or plain and simply something that you love.

I've been incredibly lucky this year but I think my Best Buy has been this sealed 12" Kenobi - he's also a lesson in checking for sellers other items as the guy I got this from also had a sealed 12" Indiana Jones that went for a song and I missed out on as I forgot to look at his other listings.

Let's see what you've got :!:

Good question  , I have treated myself to a few nice bits this year. But my stand out piece has got to be this 100% complete Slave 1, been after one for a while and was scrolling through Ebay one day and buy it now £59.99. Never had one as a kid and Boba Fett is so friggin cool 8)

Love the Obi Wan Carl, and have always appreciated the Indy line, shame that you missed that one. 8)
A great Slave One Russ. :D and loving the socks!
I've picked up some great MOCs this year, I think that this is my favourite.

Looking forward to seeing other members favourite items.

Great idea for a topic, Carl.

Superb items, fellas!

Sorry to bore you all (it's already been in a couple of other threads), but mine would be this Palitoy large head Han Solo MOC. Wasn't even looking for one, but saw it, took a punt and got very lucky 8)

Mine has to be my First 12 Display Stand complete with figures. After selling off the figures I didn't want the display stand was £150. But the big bonus was the fact that I also kept the R2-D2 and Darth Vader and they were both Taiwan (which I had been after for a while) :D

Ive had some great additions, the 4 pack and 15 pack saves were a favourite for me little pieces of history to bring back to life, still have to collect the 15 pack baggies to complete but that gives me a project.

Bargain has to be the pop up R2 complete and complete Vader found in the wild a few weeks ago purchased for absolute peanuts
Had a good year as also pick d up the 2 Fett as well again with the help of the forum, Edd with the Tri logo bubble for the Jedi Fett and Ian with the 21 back Fett
Guys on this forum are awesome and my collection would be nowhere near but for the reaching out and support of forum members :D

Apologies as not SW but also the Lion O and He Man pick ups as well for the joint collection with my lad

Apologies for all the pics

I've been very fortunate to pick up a few good pieces in 2019, but I think this is my favourite. I love the wallpaper, had it in my bedroom as a kid so this is a very meaningful item.

Some superb pick ups here, great thread Carl

Andy, the wallpaper item encapsulates what true collecting is all about, it's the link to your past, memories and past times, something like that brigs it all back, superb :)

Some great buys on here.
Think this is my Best Buy.
Was between this and a ROTJ Tusken Raider yellow bubble MOC.
Both favourites as a kid and still are.

I haven't bought a great deal of Star Wars items this year as all my runs have got to that point of being hard to find anything new. This Lando was a nice surprise as it was one I wasn't aware existed, and a forum member alerted me to it:

However sorry to venture off topic but my absoulte favourite 'collection' pick up this year is this unused Sega Mega Drive that I bought recently. I've been collecting consoles since 2012 and this is one that had eluded me, they really don't come up for sale often in unused condition. I'm especially pleased with it as I got it for a great price because the seller listed it on eBay amongst a load of used consoles they were selling, and it was only the extra photos I asked them for (which luckily they didn't add to the listing) that showed it was new.

Great thread :)

Had quite a good haul this year but a few items that have really stood out for me:

Started 2019 off to a bang by coming across this super rare flyer advertising the C3P0 playsuit at the UK trade show.

Then finding an ESB lucite star on ebay - originally it had no vlevet bag with it but when I posted my find up on FB another collector got in touch (Craig) and told me he had one spare and it was mine if I made a donation to Jez's charity - great gesture which made the piece even more special to me.

The Palitoy PD re-seal was another memorable piece as it was purchased by all the lads who went to Celebration who asked me to create some swag for them, the little Palitoy Death Star - this was their thank you gift to me and I was really surprised by it and very touched - thanks chaps (you know who you are).

Next is the HCF 1st issue pencil display box - rare find that one!

Then it's 2 pick ups from Octobers Echo Live - great show and one of these was a trade and one was a surprise purchase.

Finally, the series 2 UK Topps display box - on my wanted list for ages, another tick in the box!

Just hope 2020 is as fruitful!

I've had a good year of collecting and managed to pick up some great bits along the way. My favourite has to be my Fascal store display... Fuelled completely by nostalgia I've been looking for one for years - I remember these very displays and buying the stickers from my local newsagent to stick on my wardrobe as a six year old. The stickers are quite large, the bigger ones are around the size of the palm of my hand.

That Store display is great Martin well done 8) my mate was gutted he didn't win that :!:

Great thread and so fitting for the end of another great year for Star Wars :) Some great pick ups lads, v well done to all of you.
I certainly cannot complain this year either. Start of the year was a big addition to my Palitoy Luke X-Wing run; a big win at Vectis of a mint 41 back that also ended up grading 85 at UKG.
Another great find from the US via eBay was an original non-Toni 65 back Gamorrean Guard that was in great shape which no one else bid on so got it for a steal.
Next up was one of my all time lucky bargains, a freak of a pick up from "Brian's Toys" of all places :!: A near mint Palitoy 30 back Hoth Trooper that cost me around £250 :!:  That ended up grading 80 at UKG.
Another 2 bargains were 1, finding a clean Palitoy 65 back Weequay for £30 on eBay and 2 finding a fully sealed Palitoy Energiser mini rig for £46 BIN :!: Amazing what saving one can make when the word "Palitoy" is left out the listing title  That was followed by a nice pick up of a Palitoy 65 back ERG via FB and some great help from my SW buddy Max Field in putting a stunning 65 back Admiral Ackbar, Ree Yees, Lando Skiff and Rebel Commando my way thus completing my Palitoy debut Jedi run 8)
Finally my end of year pick up that was huge for my mini rig collection was winning an unused uncreased box flap Palitoy Empire PDT-8 8)

It's been epic guys :D

Great idea for a thread Carl, and a real toughie. The year started in amazing style with Canada and Tolstoys X-Wings arriving in January

I also picked up a Poch Han Hoth cardback that I turned into a reseal

but I think these Redondo cap guns win it for nostalgic reasons. Great memories of childhood holidays in Spain

Special mention to Pat for sending me this unused Han Hoth cardback as a gift. A lovely gesture

And just because - here's headless Han Solo again :D
