Hi all. I'm thinking of acquiring a 1984 vintage Skiff vehicle. No box just the vehicle which is a very clean unplayed with condition . All complete with all working mechanisms. It also has a full sheet of unapplied stickers.

I realise that this is a rare thing and the price is £750. I'd appreciate thoughts and views on such a purchase. Cheers!

Agreed, the seller is taking the piss on price. I recommend doing a simple eBay search for 'Vintage Tatooine Skiff' in 'Sold items' 'Worldwide' and seeing what loose vintage skiffs have actually fetched. It certainly won't be £750.

To be fair the only sold one on eBay I could find was a boxed one sold for £795

Maybe it's not worth that but I has sold for that.

Like I said it was the only one I could find so good job finding the others but even 2 out of the 4 there are over £500 loose.

Thank you. I did as I suggested above and did an eBay search for 'Vintage Tatooine Skiff' in 'Sold items' 'Worldwide' and it brought up 3 pages of results, most of which were the new modern Hasbro Skiff, but within those 3 pages were those four auctions I listed, plus some others where the skiffs were incomplete (although frankly, that would probably work out to be the cheapest way of buying one; buy an incomplete one and then buy the missing parts, since those also come up for sale quite often).

Yes, the two loose ones I found had sold for over £500 each (although to be fair, one of those did come with an acrylic case), but that's still a massive saving on £750 for a loose one, which remains far too much money to pay for one.

I think the 'unused with complete decal sheet' part may contribute a lot to the high asking price. A 'boxed unused' collector (like me) might pay a premium for this one to upgrade the contents of his current boxed skiff. If this is not important for the buyer, he's better off waiting for an example with decals applied.
