As we're all stuck in lockdown close to our collections and (maybe) with a little more time on our hands I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone's 5 favourite items in their collections were currently.

It doesn't matter how big or small your collection; whether you have just started on your collecting journey or your a seasoned veteran; whether you only collect loose or you have an insane pre-production or cast and crew run...

It could be a childhood beater; your favourite mint loose example; the item that made you start collecting; the grail you've finally got your hands on after all these years... all are welcome and every piece tells a collecting story.

Here's mine:

1) The First 12 Display Stand: this is currently my favourite piece in my collection. The first 12 are my favourite figures and what better way to display them?

2) 20 back Tusken Raider - this was the first MOC I bought, starting my first foray into MOC collecting. I love the first 12 and the big Star Wars logo just makes those cards ping.

3) PBP Han Solo - this was the figure that started my love affair with the Spanish line. It was a lucky pick up as someone sent it to me as a replacement for a figure with a glued leg. I noticed it's unusual characteristics and started doing some research into the PBP line. Love the unpainted neck.

4) Poch Apple Head Yoda - this is my latest Yoda pick up and one I've been after for a while. He was a great price and is in fabulous condition. Fits in well with my loose Yoda focus.

5) Palitoy Hoth Wampa - I have a small MIB collection and while I have some much more impressive playsets and vehicles this is my favourite because of the BHS logo. My mum worked in BHS in the 80s and a lot of my childhood collection would have been bought there. Just a shame I never kept any of it

What are yours?

Great idea for a thread! So difficult to choose 5, but these are some personal highlights. In no particular order...

Palitoy Death Star. I just loved this as a kid, and it's still my favourite item in the action figure line.
2019-08-26 15.38.25.jpg

Topps UK trading card boxes. I collected these cards as a kid and I love the art on the counter top boxes.
2019-10-22 13.34.32.jpg

Pye records Star Wars soundtrack store display with attached record sleeve. This has everything for me - big, early store display item with the wonderful Chantrell poster art, with great vibrant colours, and the actual product attached to it.
2018-05-19 10.21.49.jpg

Star Wars production used script and Glory Book. A slight cheat as these are two different items, but both came together from the same source, a unit photographer on Star Wars.
2018-02-09 20.01.05.jpg

Childhood photo story album. I had so much fun as a kid setting up scenes with my action figures, photographing them, compiling this album and adding 'special effects'. It remains one of my favourite possessions.

Love your collection Andy. Those Topps Trading Card Boxes are amazing. The graphics are fantastic. And that Pye Records Star Wars Soundtrack Display is really something with that Chantrell artwork. Thanks for sharing mate.

Firstly I'm going to go for my first 12 stand, otherwise my VCJ and DT Luke would take up 2 favourite slots.

Ok, the next 3 are all going to be from my fockuss.

Here are mine- so difficult to choose!
1. My childhood LXW, with corresponding MOC bought in the late 90's. Played with this figure non-stop, as you can tell.
2. Childhood DSD, with corresponding MOC (recently acquired). Along with R5, the first figure I bought on my 7th birthday in Zodiac Toys, Swindon.
3. Childhood Boba, playworn, with the remains of custom kill stripes etc. Mine was a Palitoy 30-bk, but have a 41-bk Kenner MOC instead (weapon error-ironically a smuggler blaster!).
4. Childhood mailaway Dengar, with corresponding Palitoy 45b MOC, purchased from a Cheshunt SW Day in the mid-nineties.
5. My childhood Snowspeeder, with original box.

Honourable mentions: childhood X-Wing, Snowtrooper, AT-AT Driver, R5, set of 1978 face masks.

*EDIT* Looking at Andy's list, realised I forgot my childhood scrapbook- gotta be in there! Will add a pic later...

Those are some beautiful MOCs mate. And what I would t give to have my childhood Star Wars figures. I have some other stuff that I treasure but no Star Wars.

You may have played a s**t load with the figures but you knew how to look after the boxes. Well played that man.

Just looked at your story album in more detail. The photos are ace. You looked like you had so much fun putting that together. Love to see more of that in detail in a dedicated post if you ever get the time Andy.

Some very cool and interesting items here, great thread. I'm cheating slightly.. but others have :p So in no order some of my favourites.
1. Boxed Palitoy Falcon. Bought early in my collecting, iconic and exact one I had as a kid. Love it. Not on display sadly at the moment.
2. Childhood X-Wing and Snowspeeder. X-Wing from my Nan Christmas 83'. Very sentimental item. Hours and hours of fun playing with these.
3. Yoda Kenner 32 back MOC. First Empire MOC I ever bought as a collector, debut card, the Yoda I had as a kid. The MOC I always wanted.
4. MIB Bilogo Scout Walker. One of my favourite toys in the line, still have my childhood one. This is mint and I just love it. A centrepiece in my cabinet.
5. My whole loose set! Sorry I know but it is my favourite thing in my collection. A labour of love and has my childhood Squid head in it.

Some great items guys, keep 'em coming.

Okay well i found it difficult to decide on my 5 items but these are what I've opted for...

1.
The thing that started it all off for me in collecting really.
Bought this comic around the time i first saw the film and still have the original somewhere although I'll be honest and say it is cut to shreds so i could adorn my wall with pics, ads and the word 'STAR WARS'
Picked this mint example up from Tillys vintage comic/magazine shop in the 90s
Nr Bramall Lane but it's something i had to put myself through.

2.
Another early item i picked up before the toys came out.
We used to have a couple of fun fairs come to our village regularly in the 70s and 80s and this was from Dowses fair in the late 70s.
Love these kitsch mirrors and have added to this over the years.

3.
Denys Fisher models of 3PO and R2.
I no longer have my originals :( but i thought it was incredible to have miniature models of my fave droids in my bedroom for years

4.
I was the envy of my schoolmates with this.
It's Helix, need say no more, it made studying bearable.

5.
Last but not least, i had to have the music and the sounds of the film when this came out but there was initial disappointment when i first ordered this at my local record shop.
I used to pop in everyday for nearly two weeks until they said they had it :p 8)
To my devastation they gave me the black soundtrack version with the classic Williams' London Symphony Orchestra which i grabbed, scurried home and ended up playing to death anyway.
I had within a week ordered this which came so i could listen to the fantastic voices and special effects in my own home.
Incidentally, the fantastic poster from said 1st album with 3 or 4 Falcons in the space battle nearly ended up being one of my 5 items.

Regards
Paul

My top 5

First 12 stand and figures ...iconic to me and was a must so lucky that I have this in my collection due to the forum, it makes me smile every day

4 pack Mailer .... this was a rescue piece .. again due to this forum ( Frunkstar ...Frank great bloke!). now have the Mailer box, the catalogue and the 4 figures

21 back Fett.... thanks to Ian ( Palifan) was able to add this to the 21 back run, it's a reseal and obvious repair, but love the piece

21 back run mixed Palitoy and Kenner.... Again massive thanks to Palifan ( Ian) who allowed me to purchase some of the reseals to get this run going nearing the end on this, need an R5 badly but will get there in t he end again this makes me smile every day

3 line LFB.... this was the first figure in my collection and one I had from 1983 which I picked up at a car boot for pennies, whilst starting to get items for my son ( with whom I have collected since and have a great SW collecting bond with, which has now evolved as my 2 year old Grandson is a SW fan)

3 line Luke is in the 12 back LFB on the 21 back display

Sorry cheating  have to put this in as well

ROTJ Fett reseal

Lovely items. As a Yoda guy that MOC really floats my boat. You're another lucky enough to have some childhood items.

I was lucky to have my childhood toys as they were left in my parents loft so my top 5 relate to those childhood memories and items.

No 1 would be the only picture I have from when I was a kid of my collection set up as a Hoth base probably about 1981 ish
No 2 would be a poor x wing I painted to look like a spitfire when I was a kid which I still have below missing 3 guns should get some replacements
No3 is a box I found in the loft which contained what was left of my Topps cards and other bits a pieces really brought the memories back, swappsies anyone :D
The fourth and fifth would be my childhood ATAT and Falcon as they were involved in all my Star Wars play, some photos below
stay safe everyone :)

The Spitfire W-Wing is priceless :D

Some fantastic pics people, now I'll have to give it some thought myself.
