I think these check out, but wanted to check if anyone can see any issues with them. As most people know these days a lot of vintage sabers sink (more specifically they will sit on top of the water until poked, then sink) so I'm not concerned about the sinking, and happy with the UV... but I like to double check these things as there are some really convincing repros about and I don't handle many sabers.

I am not an expert in sabers, but I have never heard about fake sabers that glows under uv light unless it is broken original sabers that has been melted to new sabers, I do not know how to ID the melted sabers, sorry.

Yes, I've checked Imperial Gunnery but its very vague on lightsabers. It just says "some float some dont".

I think the UV is probably a good sign though, and these are clearly well used so not a recent repro.

Glad I'm out of the weapons game. If you get too bogged down with you become obsessed. I've got original sinking sabers. Mine field good luckđź‘Š

Yep it's a nightmare TBF on sinkers, I have 3 tipless sabers all which sink but all I'm 100% that they are the real deal

As Ponch says...good luck

Sabers are a nightmare :?
IMO most collectors can not identify repro vs original from photos, and probably most could not do it in hand. I include myself in that bracket.

I have bought myself a microscope and use that to help identify original from repro.

Here are my notes on my Vader sabers. I have put 100% original only when I know beyond doubt it is original so it shows you how hard it is.

You'll see that both flat tipped I have glow and sink though. But this does not lead me to conclude your last one is repro. Good luck.

- Hong Kong. Flat tip lettered saber; glows, sinks. 100% original
- Taiwan (came complete): Taiwan saber; glows, floats. 100% original
- Hong Kong (came complete): Rounded tip; glows, sinks
- Hong Kong (came complete): Rounded tip; glows, floats
- Raised bar (came complete with saber but missing cape): Flat tip; Glows, sinks
- PBP Vader. Cape 7. Glows, sinks. Childhood figure. Came with card back. 100% original.
- PBP Vader. Cape 8. Unknown saber. Glows, sinks.
- PBP Vader. Cape 9. Rounded Tip: Glows, sinks
- PBP Vader. Cape 8. Incorrect V2 saber: glows, floats (100% original)
- PBP Vader (incomplete). Unknown cape. Possible repro saber. Rounded tip. Glows, sinks.
