I am new in this forum and wanted to say hi and start a not so new discussion.

Recently I have acquired two dark blue Leia Blasters but not sure if they are legit/original.

If they are repros they are some of the best repros I have seen.

Could someone be so kind to help me clarify if they are legit or repros?

Attached some pictures.

Hi again, I would appreciate if experienced guys in SW vintage 77-85 could leave an opinion on if blasters are genuine or repro. Just finishing my 96 figures collection (and some variations) and wanted to be sure no repros are left there.

Thanks,

Hi, both.

I bought those 2 for Leia Organa and Leia Bespin as I understand the dark blue colour is the correct one.

Just wanted to check if they were genuine.

Have you checked Imperial Gunnery?

I also recommend checking The Imperial Gunnery:

There are unfortunately a lot of quite convincing repro weapons these days, especially when it comes to Leia blasters. The above guide should help you compare yours to known originals, for although yours look like they may well be genuine, nothing beats having them in hand when looking at the examples on The Imperial Gunnery to help you decide one way or the other.

Good luck.

Well,

Gone through TIG and considering the 2 first pics, I am pretty sure the one on the right is a V3b variation.

Not so sure about the one on the left. Seems a V2 but no sure.

Blaster on the right is good. Blaster on left is Saltburn repro. Screw, barrel and end are off. You're right though is a very good repro and will fool many collectors.

Thanks...I knew you were the one to help! :D

Hi all,

Much appreciated your advice.

and all you guys

These are not good time for collectors with all those good repros. As we continue like this, every time we buy we will have to ask for a certificate of authenticity.

Reproductions are definitely getting better but there's always someone that can help if you can't figure it out yourself. The only ones I really struggle with are lightsabers. Can't abide lightsabers

Ps my call sign is TheJabbaWookie not jabbawokkie. He's not been as active lately
