Hello forum Members !!

Firstly id like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy new year !! , Ive not posted on the forum in quite sometime but i have a "Cool story bro!!" that id like to share with you all.

A few weeks ago i had my 90 year old Nan round for a Sunday dinner , After dinner we were sat round chatting and reminiscing about me and my cousin when we were young visiting her and gramps and things we used to get up to on said visits.
With my Grandad being Ex military he quite liked the old action man figures , outfits and vehicles and built up quite a collection for me and my cousin to play with whenever we went to visit.

So i was asking " Do you still have all the action man stuff Nan ? " ..... The answer was No and i found out my cousin had beat me to it and asked this a few years prior to me , Took the lot and sold it all

Then her attention was drawn to my Jabba the Hutt playset that is on display on a shelf in my front room , "Whats that ? Is it Star Wars " She asked .
"Yes Nan ive always been mad on Star Wars , Havent you noticed the display cabinet on the landing with my lose run in ? you've walked past it enough times" I replied

Then randomly she said " Ive got a Star Wars figure , Would you like it ? "
I laughed and immediately asked " How old is it Nan ? How long have you had it ? "
She replied " Dont think its very old , Dont remember when i got it , I probably got it for Lewis ( Great grandchild ) as a present and forgot about it , Do you want it ? "......... Of course my answer was yes

So fast forward a few weeks to Christmas morning and present opening time .

I was sat opening a Large box from my old Nan , Full of treats and bits like : Tin of celebrations , Bottle of whiskey , bag of peanuts , more various chocolate etc etc and chucked in with it all .......... A carded Star Wars figure
My heart started racing and i started to freak the F out !! That must be a retro collection figure surely i was thinkng.
Pulled it out and to my utter amazement i was holding in my hands a vintage palitoy ROTJ 65bk Boba Fett Space Picture figure

So what i believe happened with this figure is that in fact it was brought for me in 1983 as a extra christmas or birthday present.
My Nan must have spoken to my Mum , told her what she had and my Mum must of said " He's got that one already".
Then it was just chucked in the draw or cupboard for 37 years and forgoten about !!.
I 100% sure that it was intended for me as my cousin is a few years older than me and was never into Star Wars toys.

Needless to say im over the moon !! I have essentially got a childhood figure thats still on the card , He's in pretty good nick apart from a slightly crushed bubble and minor edge wear.
He's my first and only vintage Moc as im not a carded collector , I still need two figures for my loose run and a couple of weapons but he will be getting a GW case and take pride of place on top of my loose cabinet :D

Just thought id share that story with you , I'll pop up some photos up later and maybe someone can tell me if its a 65bk a b c d etc and a ruff price so i can shock my old Nan

Thanks for reading and Merry Chirstmas .
Dave.

Amazing story and photos! So nice to hear that things like this still happen. In case you aren't aware there are many fakes of these around from Toy Toni (Google it if you've never heard the story) but yours looks like the real deal. The fakes in circulation (usually with the wrong 'tri-logo' figure inside) make legit ones more desirable, so even in that condition it's probably worth ÂŁ800-1000. Nice one :)

Well, that's about the best story to end this year on IMO! Brilliant mate, what a xmas present!

The ONLY thing that could have made this any better would have been if it was a 30 back!

That's the best Christmas story since Scrooged. Bloody brilliant. Worthy of it's own pedestal and display case, I reckon!

Oh, and I'd be striking my cousin off my Christmas card list for sure. What a git!

That's a fabulous story - what an amazing Nan! Just like a portal back into the 80s, getting one of your gifts delivered from back in the day. Lovely.
