St Michael book illustrations
Hi. Does anyone recognise the book illustrations in this st Michael compilation of chapters. The first chapter in it is escape from the death star. The illustrations in it are Macquarie esq but don't look like Macquarie to me. I don't know where they are from. I've never seen the original editions of the novel so don't know if they are from that? This was published in 1983 so they really would have known by then that this wasn't what any of the characters looked like. Anyone know?

Re: At Michael book illustrations
I don't know why they are all sideways, this is a recurring issue for me with the forum, I can't seem to change it.
Re: At Michael book illustrations
This is from a Dr Who site which has some info on the book,
Seventeen stories from the exciting world of science fiction, including Star Wars and Doctor Who and tales by Jules Verne, Robert Heinlein and Arthur C. Clarke.
This spectacular collection is illustrated throughout with specially commissioned drawings.
Maybe this was due to copyright or costs, or it not being "official" product.

Re: At Michael book illustrations
Judging by the illustrations, and the front cover, I guess they had the rights to use the text, but not any SW imagery. Other than that I’ve no idea where the pictures come from, I’d guess commissioned for the book.

Re: St Michael book illustrations
Thanks both.
That sounds like the most plausible explanation, they must have had the rights to the text but not the pictures so had to make their own.
