Like most on here I had a large collection of the range back in the early 80s. I kept it all pretty meticulously as a child and had so much fun playing with those figures and ships. I kept it all in my parents loft for decades after.

Then around 2013, I gave a large part of it away to a family member as he had a small boy who loved Star Wars. I kept half of it but I figured he would get more use out of it. But I always had a nagging doubt that I should have kept those childhood things

Then the Force awakens rekindled my love for all things Star Wars. My own kids were just beginning to show a real interest in the films and the figures I still had and the fun we had playing with them along with nostalgia watching them play really made me regret it. I bought some stuff on eBay, but it's not *quite* the same...

I was resigned to the fact I wouldn't see it all again. Anyway the other week he contacted me to see whether I wanted it all back. He was having a clear out and it was gathering dust and he would rather repay the favour and let us have it back to get some use out of it!

I just took delivery of:

Ewok village
Snowspeeder
Rancor
Jabba
Y wing
Xwing

And about 20 figures. All look like they were barely played with.

To say I am happy is an understatement. Practically My whole childhood collection is back with me (except a white tie fighter I threw away at the same time - what was I thinking!!)

Looking forward to many more years of play and enjoyment.

Hi

Really pleased you got it all back again in good condition. Wish I could say the same I "lent" my childhood millenium falcon to my own children to play with after a bit of pressure from the other half. It went off complete (which was a miracle considering how much I played with it when I was a child) it came back missing the training ball and arm, cockpit canopy glass and the blue gunners chair! Needless to say I have not made a similar mistake since then!

Thanks and I can sympathise as this exact same scenario happened to me. The training ball arm lasted one session with the kids. I had to buy a replacement cockpit window too. And the gonk droid mysteriously disappeared never to return

We did have fun recreating the battle of hoth last week though with the empire soundtrack on in the background!

Wow! What a great story- not very often that this happens. They're usually lost forever. They look in great condition as well- Luke Stormie looks fantastic 8)

Chuffed for you!

Yeah I did keep Luke stormy. There's a minor nick on the nose I guess that's to be expected. Always loved that figure. I was playing with the toys well into 1986 - remember seeing the lines of anakin and imperial dignitary in the local Asda.

I bought 7 of the last 17 way back at the time and played with them a lot not knowing that they would be collectible 35 years later. Probably just luck that Luke and Han carbonate are in such good condition.

At least you have half of your original collection. I made a 'mistake' late 80ties selling my small childhood collection. Just posted an advert at a comic book store and a couple of days later some guy contacted me and I sold the small collection for cash money. Years and years later I've regretted this fact and began collecting the 90ties POTF and later modern stuff from the prequels. Not the same at all, so I let modern collecting behind and began collecting vintage again. A lot of figures I had never owned and a lot boxed stuff I never had like play sets (Rebel base, Probot and Turret) and last, but not least, a boxed Palitoy Darth Vaders Tie Fighter. After that I've bought some carded figures from this magnificent forum and my vintage collection is bigger than ever. Not the same, I know, but still feeling lucky owning this lot. I had the Millennium Falcon, an X-Wing and some mini rigs. A lot of my former figures were discolored and I have 4 DSC commanders instead of the one I've owned (isn't it sad I've missed that one the most?) so to cut a long story short: happy with what I own now! 8)

Thanks for sharing them, nice collection you have and also had when you were a kid. I am glad that you got it back. I know the feeling, I got my collection back in 2001 from my little brother :D
