I bought a new all metal accurate Han Solo blaster, an upgrade from my resin one and it's arrived..! It's absolutely gorgeous, I'm well chuffed. The machined parts are stunning. The gun itself is a Denix Mauser replica but it's been machined to make it accurate. Everything looks right, the attention to detail is really impressive even down to the flash hider being slightly angled up/on the piss just like the hero prop. There's something about the weight and all the separate parts screwed together that makes it feel real and more satisfying than the resin one. I have work to do - going to stain the grips darker (possibly replace because they're ****), paint the bull barrel, scope mount and scope black. And add a greeblie on top the bull barrel. Then weather and scrape and scuff it to give it the aged look. Super stoked :D

I've been working on the blaster this week. It's had a few passes of paint and stain. I stained the grips with dark woodstain, then rubbed them with a scourer to reduce the shine, then scratched them up a bit. Sprayed the scope mount and bull barrel with matt black hobby paint and the scope with satin black cellulose. I've then scraped and weathered with screwdrivers and other metal objects. And basically beat the crap out of it with various things. The real prop is beat to hell and I wanted a heavily weathered look. I'm well happy with this, turned out better than I hoped. I'm not done, will continue weathering and tinkering with it. I've wanted one of these forever and it will take pride of place in my collection 👍 :)
