I remember turning up for an afternoon showing of Empire, opening week at the Odeon Leicester Square. I was ten. Found this picture on the web.

Great photo.
Brings back great memories of seeing Empire at the Bristol Odeon.
Although I'd seen SW at the cinema in '78, TESB is the first OT film I have vivid memories of seeing.
The queue around the block, the amazing lobby artwork/standees, the 'Black Angel' short and of course the film itself.

Don't listen to the Last Jedi revisionists who claim Empire was hated on release.
Maybe the critics reviews were more mixed than they were for SW. But hated by the public??......Utter bollocks.
