I wish that I could help you Lars, but I don't own one of these.
I'm not sure why as I think R2 and C3PO are great.
I think that it maybe the price that these two fetch now!
Looking forward to seeing what everyone has.

No problem, I have one that I can add, but it is more fun if others also can add pictures :D

I bought mine many years ago, 15 years ago I think, so I do not know the price today :?

I also think R2 and c3po is great 8)

That's in lovely condition, Lars. As you know, I don't collect Droids figures, so I can't help you with this thread, but I do hope some other forum members can add photos of their R2's :)

Here's my Driods R2 moc. This was the second one I bought as I had an AFA 85 one originally to go along with my 85 Droids C-3PO but this one came up which was in the same condition but had a less yellowed bubble. I had a spare AFA case that I'd cracked open to put this one in so that the cases would match with the C-3PO and the grade didn't worry me although I think this would still grade at 85.

As with most of these Droids R2/3PO's getting them with a clear bubble is very difficult and not something I normally have in my collection (although the Glasslite ones seem to fair better), but this was the best I could find at the time. I also have a loose one put away somewhere and I'll post it up if I can find it

Found my loose one :D

It's not mint and I display him with a regular pop up lightsaber as the one he came with was a little chewed and missing part of the handle. Still, for £50 he'll do!

Wow Ian, thanks for sharing this beauty in the thread, that moc is amazing. I was beginning to fear that we would not see a moc in this thread thanks mate for sharing the moc

Wow Ian, nice loose, sorry about the lightsaber :( but I am glad to read you replaced it with potf lightsaber

I was worried many years ago about my lightsaber was repro :( but after some help on tig many years ago It was confirmed it is original. But I still think mine looks different than the broken one you have :?

Good to see your R2s chaps - how does the saber differ from the regular one?

From what I can remember the shade of green differs slightly and maybe the length (although I'm not so sure about that). Hopefully someone can fill us in a bit more but I do remember seeing a comparison at some point although maybe it was between the Kenner and Glasslite ones.

This was my one. I bought if with the intention of originally breaking him free of his case.

I was a bit too quick on the draw when I purchased him and didn't notice the slight chip in the dome. I was interested to know if AFA had graded him 75 with the chip or whether he had sustained it afterwards. He doesn't move around in the case and when I contacted AFA they said that, while they couldn't disclose information of that nature to me even though he was now in my possession (note UKG will disclose), they did say that a chip of this nature could be a possible reason for scoring a 75 and it could theoretically have scored higher without.

Well to cut a long story short I decided he didn't really fit in my collection even though I do like both the Droids R2 and C3PO, so I decided to sell him to fund my failed DSD 20 Back MOC purchase. The money was finally put to good use in the recent purchase of my 12 Back DSC. :D

I'm surprised that he graded 75% with that clip to the dome.
Would have thought it would be more like a 60%?
Glad to hear that you managed to turn him into something that you wanted.
