What no pictures of our beautiful Princess after nearly a day? That won't do at all!

I have wonderful memories of playing with the original 12 Star Wars figures back in 1978, and Princess Leia was very much part of that. I never understood that rubbish about boys not wanting to play with action figures of girls, because Princess Leia kicked ass! No run of figures would be complete without her, and how were you supposed to recreate her rescue from the Detention Block or escape from the Trash Compactor without her?

I simply love the first 12 figures, and I love Princess Leia (and the beautiful and much missed Carrie  ). This was a terrific little figure, and even though it had its eccentricities (a good old vinyl cape and decidedly odd legs for a dress!), I really liked it. I enjoyed the fact that I could take the cape off and put it back on again (I was only 6, so there was nothing mucky in my thoughts about it!). I loved the fact that she had a unique blaster (something that would come back to haunt the wallets of future collectors a few decades down the line), and I really loved the fact that it actually looked like Princess Leia, hair buns and all!

There are a few variants to collect with her Royal Highness, but I only have two at present as the differences aren't all that great to my eyes (although I will try to track down a PBP one eventually); a nice soft pink faced, brown hair, eyes and belt 1st issue Leia, and a bright pink faced, black hair, eyes and belt one.

I am also surprised that you are the only one who have shared her in the thread  one of my favorite figures leia is.

I agree leia is a cool figure and boys could play with her, I did not have this one when I was a kid and I never saw it in the shops in denmark when I was a kid. So I played with my leia endor figure

Thanks for sharing this 2 great mint variants, complete with capes and blasters 8)

Lovely loose examples as usual, Jeremy 8)

Absolutely love this figure- so iconic and of it's time.

Here's my Kenner 31-bk MOC and my loosie.

I have a couple but only a photo of this one. I love the figure and briefly considered doing a focus at one point when I had 3-4 variants but the cost of loose and carded is prohibitive and the amount of info on the capes especially is limited, so I gave up.

Beautiful MOCs, Nick! I usually prefer figures on their debut cards, but I really do like that ESB card. It's a beauty!

Also, a lovely loose. Thanks for sharing :)

Nice figure mate, thanks for sharing it  I understand mate, the carded ones is expensive and the info on the capes are yet still not good enough. I still miss more info about the cape with no zip sound :(

Here's my 12 back which was a sealed Palitoy 12 back cut card that I attached to the card back. It's always nice to have a sealed figure as you know that everything is present and correct and can also help identifying how real capes and weapons should look.
