Power of the Force Electronic AT-AT

Postby Gwynda » Fri May 03, 2019 12:23 pm

Vintage from 1997

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 3469269651

This listing is for one Imperial At-At from the vintage Star Wars Power of the Force Collection.

This is the 1997 version of the AT-AT which has the electronic sounds of the At-At walking, the sounds of its laser blasts and the voice of General Veers from the film The Empire Strikes Back.

The item is used with stickers attached, the box is included but has been opened and shows some signs of age. One of the side head cannons is a bit loose as the connection needs repair. Otherwise, this is in very good condition, and is ideal for any star wars collector or vintage toy fan.

Both the AT-AT driver and commander figures are included in the set.

Postage:

Your item will be despatched via Royal Mail. Please note that while UK delivery is included in the price, international delivery for item this size is very expensive and therefore will be additional to the price.

Correct.
They used to term these items between vintage and the prequel toys as neo-classical on eBay.
Not sure how they term then now but it's all modern as far as this section is concerned.

Typically, anything before 2000 is now termed as vintage on any selling platform you care to choose.

If you don’t agree, don’t buy it. Pedantry is not needed, especially when it’s wrong.

In regards to this forum however, you are wrong. This section is clearly stated as for "Vintage (1977-1985) Star Wars toys only please - use the 'General Sales' forum for selling modern and non-Star Wars items."

Hi Gwynda, I think Paul for one, was just trying to point out, that on this site and to many collectors ,Vintage is basically the stuff older, up to Retun of the jedi and Tri logo marked boxes. The older Power of the force that is vintage has the 3 star wars wordings and uses the old toy pictures.
Yours is an "newer" type picture. People are being helpful, as it saves a refund on ebay with a seller claiming a refund or stop payment due to incorrect listings. Especially if they are new to the collecting scene.
If you look on the Ebay index here read the potf Endor chase subject as that was interesting and informative.
Enjoy the site, as it is a very useful aid.

To the OP

People on this forum are helpful and provide guidance and support to members outside the forum such as yourself linking your sales, you state pedantry, but yes there have to be rules and guideline.
As has been stated your item is Not taken as Vintage in the Star Wars collecting community, especially within forums such this.
As has been stated there are a lot of unscrupulous sellers out there that do try to mislead newcomers to the collecting community for monetary gain and have no interest in collecting as a hobby or passion. Your write up on the item, description and outline of it are to be applauded for giving great info, other than the fact that, as pointed out, a person new to collecting may purchase your item then ask for a refund as it's not an original vintage item in the true vintage collecting terminology, and for that reason would come under the modern collecting section of this forum.

I can assure you no offence is intended from any member on here, quite the opposite, although a friendly bunch, we also do have a little fun as well, as we are passionate about collecting, we also have grounded perception and these are just toys.

If you take the time to stick around, contribute and take part in our community spirit on here, you will see that what has been advised is correct, and it does become quite attritional where someone states...you are all "wrong" especially when just posting to advertise an item for sale.

Best regards

Not when it comes to Star Wars, Vintage Star Wars is 77-85, anything after that is modern.
