Talk about modern (post 1985) Hasbro toys, including POTF2.

Valuation advice - sideshow collectibles Gamorrean Guard bust

Post by Sa2ayr »

Hi, new to this forum and looking for advice.
After my brother in law passed away recently, I’ve inherited an amazing life size replica bust of the Gamorrean Guard by Sideshow Collectibles.
I’m keen to get an idea of its value, since it may need to be declared on my insurance if I keep it, if my wife lets me, else sell on.
It seems to be quite rare, only 300 made worldwide in 2010, this is number 179.
I’ve read quite a few reviews about it and I believe it was the largest bust sideshow ever made, alongside one of the most detailed.
I’ve found none for sale and despite costing $500 in 2010, theyve been recorded as going on ebay for between $2000 - $4500 .
So I really have no idea. It’s in great condition, only issue is the tips of the horns have a tiny rub on them caused by the box it was stored in, see pics. All advice/feedback welcome, thanks.

If this is not the correct forum to value this, could someone recommend a site that would be more suitable?
Cheers, G

@Sa2ayr

Firstly I’m sorry to hear of your loss.
And I’m also sorry I can’t help you with a price, as I know absolutely nothing about these.
I’ve just had a look on Facebook and there are a few groups on there that maybe able to help, just put Sideshow collectables and the top one is the Uk collectors group.
Advice...don’t sell to the first person to make you an offer if that’s what you want to do, get as much information you can to make an informed decision.
Good luck. :D

Awesome item (fave character) and really wished I’d got this when it came out. Several years on with twins now added to my family + the price of this guy nowadays means it’ll have to be one of those items that got away :(

Personally, I’d keep it especially as the gammo’s are supposedly going to be in the next series of The Mandalorian - if you do decide to sell then maybe that would be a better time to do so.
