The seller could be totally innocent and unaware that theres anything wrong with some of the product he was selling.
I think that particular horse has well and truly bolted.

Baggie swapping has always gone on back in the day, if any of you dont want to believe it, well fair enough, but seriously a baggie could be swapped 20 years ago and you wouldnt know the difference today as age wears everything.

This may well have been a common practice, I never said it was not, what I dd say is the all beggie I have checked to go on the guide go through a great many checks before being added, not just heat seal pattern / tape seal integrity (tape slip/ageing/edges & how they lay on the bag) or the baggie type, but also checking the coo & family mold correspond to other known examples etc, I don't just pluck something random out of thin air you know, there's 4 years work gone in to constructing the baggies guide, may I ask have you even read the guide??

This post has been very interesting for me, but what shocks me is how people can come on here and openly slag off a seller and basically throw lots of comments which some are basically slander which in the end could ruin the guys reputation.

Not really - slander is spoken defamation. Libel is written defamation.

It's not a Kangeroo court you know, all the evidence has been collated / cross checked & looked at in detail on a dedicated investigations group between 15 noteworthy collectors, all specialists in there chosen field / focus, again we did not pull all this info out of our asses you know.

You also "didn't have one" SW character Palitoy 30 back on ur stand either. Oh yeh they were under the table

Is 80s_Collector the chap who claimed to have some cardback variations that had never been documented before, but refused to share the pics?

If that's true then he's probably not a person who values guides, research, or indeed contributing knowledge to the community.

In this thread also seems to just be here to try and derail.

In which case, his reputation as a decent SW seller is in tatters anyway - given he is the 'baggie guy', has turned over a ton of these and should know better!

This isn't a random guy who sold a load of collections and in them were a few dodgy baggies, it's someone who has been supplying baggies worldwide for years and buying in order to sell.

Ah ok mate, point taken...Lol

Baggie-gate

Douchebaggie-gate

D-baggie-gate

All good options. I'd like to throw 'J-bagging' in there too, cos I've been J-bagged and it's left a nasty taste in my mouth.

I was explaining the 'Jeff' subject with a friend last night and he says that Jeff had contacted him regarding a collection of figures that he was selling on eBay back in late October 2016.

Jeff offered £300 for a pale blue tri-logo Boba Fett (great condition) which was amongst the collection. My friend did not sell it to him.

Obviously Jeff may have wanted it for his own collection? However Jeff has sold a fair few 'tri logo' Fett's in baggies so why not keep one back for himself? Why buy another? Especially if you have been in the vintage world as long as he has.

When you consider him selling all these 'rare' baggie TL Boba Fett's as per the listed evidence - it does make you think that by offering to quickly buy a TL-Fett for £300 (a pretty steep price) - then POSSIBLY touch the paint up and then POSSIBLY put it in a baggie and then charge an extortionate amount to a collector who doesn't know any better.

It's all theory & paranoia though and nothing solid.

Please see screenshot.

Hats off to Frank and the team for safeguarding the hobby.

Interesting elcroz!!

As I was digging a little further through my emails & found the below from Jeff asking about Tri Fett's & did they come in baggie, if so which type & so on, I also late in a reply confirm they are stupidly rare with only one known & confirmed example.

It is also interesting that I know of at lest one other Mint Tri Fett Jeff has bought for a fairly high price (from one of the members on here) wonder why he would want so many of the same figure then ???

Talking of Tri fetts here's a graded one he had of me in November which I presumed he purchased using his other halfs account

This was a very reluctant sale, only sold it to fund another purchase from Jeff that turned out to be fake, sold the graded fett because I thought I had a legit example in the baggie i had from him in late 2015, which is looking more and more likely to be fake unfortunately :(

On another note, sorry to go off topic as such : Around 10k's worth of baggie sales in the last 12 months alone & he's flew under ebay's rules & reg's radar & got away with not registering himself as a business instead of private on ebay as he clearly should be
Hmmm I think ebay & inland revenue take a very dim view of this type of thing nowadays as its seen as possible tax evation but more importantly to ebay it takes away most consumer rights if a seller is private ;-) - Ebay will take one look at those figures and demand he change to business & if he does not accept their terms & conditions selling limits will be placed on his ebay account.
Happned to my misses 2 years ago after she phoned them with a problem with a purchase she'd made, then after seeing that she'd sold 2nd hand personal clothing which came to over 3.5k the previous year that by whatever law she had to register as business wether she was actually an actual business or not to continue selling that much :x ebay got told to bolt as she'd be selling nothing more in future on the platform, True to word about about a month later an mail appeared - they'd placed a selling limit on a 16 year old account & she received a letter from Hmrc. How this guy's got away with selling what? 20k's worth of stuff, most of it turning out to be fake ?? the past 2 years I do not know.

I agree completely, he has basically said I don't make them because I don't have time. Which is another way of saying I don't make them but I know a man who does or I do make them and this is a good reason why I don't.

He's gone past the stage of defending himself without professional help which is why their is no response.
