Anyone built the Sandcrawler?
Is it better to get the older set than the newest one?
Any leads on a good price... I'd prefer un-built and sealed as building is the fun.

Have the most recent release but not got the UCS one (yet)

Has a lot of technic parts but was a decent build

I was looking at the UCS one...
Long shot, but does the newer one fit in the Billy Bookcases? I'm devoting one case to Lego (I think) and so have the build-able figures; which many hate, but I love.. the Biker Scout is outstanding. I also have the Yoda/Dagobah playset, an old version of Slave-1, Han Speeder and an At-At so far. I have a spare shelf or two, and this looks like quite a beast of a build to keep me entertained (while I recover from an upcoming Op), but I want to have a home for it after, unlike the death star that moves around the house like a hobo...

These do often crop up on FB for sale quite regularly, but have noticed a large price rise on these over the last six months.
I assume that you've looked at eBay and Bricklink?
I hope the op goes well and you enjoy the build as and when you get a Sand crawler.

I have the ucs sandcrawler, in a billy bookcase.

I got it just after retirement and Simon did me a solid, letting me have it for rrp.

It's a great build. It's a big set as well, 3.3k pieces.

What are they going for now on the secondary market?

I have the sandcrawler still to build.

Was considering getting a few of the Billy book cases for display some star wars and lego pieces.

Do they have much depth? Would be nice to display some of the modular buildings on there

I popped on the cheaper standard Sandcrawler in the end, still looks like a decent build and will occupy some of y time as well as making a good display piece. I'll update when built.

I will definitely get the snow speeder and Slave1, but I'm not sure on the rest.

New Lego day... and a large purchase made. All 5 20th anniversary sets, both resistance sets and steamboat willy....
Also completed my custom set of shadows of the empire figures. Some are custom print jobs and others are made from mixing official parts. Overall think these look good.
