F**k got a birthday party that weekend. Can’t believe that’s another one I won’t make!

Me neither...

It’s a shame it’s on a Saturday as I’m working.

Looks like I can make this now

Re: The next FF.
Enjoy this weekend folks. Remember the piccies for us please.

Re: The next FF.
Just a heads up to everyone attending FF this coming Saturday. I will be filming proceedings for a forthcoming documentary about the Star Wars phenomenon in the UK, what it meant to people as small AND big kids, how we relived the movies through our toy collections before the days of video and DVD, and about how it influenced how we are as adults now.
This is NOT going to be "Plastic Galaxy: The UK edition". Whilst we may touch on the story of Palitoy, this is not going to be an hour and a half of people showing off their prized items in their vintage collection. It's a film about the people and the effect these films and toys had on them.
I'll be there most, if not all of the day. Please feel free to come and have a chat on and off camera as all input is appreciated. If you'd prefer not to be included or seen, please let me know and I will avoid pointing the camera in your direction. There will be notices on entry informing you of this.
I look forward to seeing those I know and meeting those I don't, and I hope we all have a great time.
Thanks to Mr. Tree for allowing me to do this.
See you on Saturday.
Simon

Re: The next FF.
I really enjoyed this one and had a great day, and to be honest I think the new venue is better in terms of space and facilities.
Yes, the muber of visitors were down and there wasn't as many dealers BUT it was like a return to older FF's where the middle floor was empty and loads of space to move around. I got chance to have a decent conversation with so many people yesterday and the atmosphere was great.
I really hope Dave keeps FF going and this isn't the last one.

Is there any reason to think this might have been the last one?SublevelStudios wrote:I really hope Dave keeps FF going and this isn't the last one.
This weekend was always going to be low on numbers, coming so soon after Echo Live and Celebration. But FF is the best vintage-only show in the UK, I'm sure that the next one will be busier. The event would be sorely missed if it was to fold.
http://www.ukstarwars.com Looking for non-toy vintage British SW items esp. store displays, advertising & promotional items, and cast & crew or prop items.

I think it's all best coming directly from Dave what his intentions are regarding the future of the show, but I explained to him that FF is one of those 'must do' events during the year - at least once anyway, and I think it'll be sorely missed by many of us if he did end the event.
Perhaps he needs a break from it for a while. It takes a lot of effort to put these events on I'm sure.
I know several 'active' collectors who have decided to take a break from SW as a whole.

C'mon Dave get the next one announced and raring to go.
