Can any of you loose variant experts help me please?
I picked up a Solid Dome R2 this week and have noticed that there is no COO on the base of the body and that the screw holding the head is totally different from my other examples as it's bigger and has no washer under the screw head,
Looking on line I think that I have found a similar picture of one in Wolff's guide, but there is no information on it.
Can anyone help to identify this?
Thanks in advance.

Hi mate, I also have one but I do not know much more about this variant :(
I asked the R2 FB page and their initial thoughts was that it was a "head swap" from a Sensorscope to a Solid R2 body, but then others chipped and and said that it wasn't.
I'm still none the wiser, so have just put him with the others. :D

I can check mine about if I have some info about where I have it from, if I have it from a childhood lot then I don't think there is a head swap :D

Like Mini99 already wrote. There are rumors, that these COO might only exist due to a dome swap.
As I know, there are no carded examples known.

Ok I have checked the one I have and I have no info about where the **** I have it from :( so I have bought it in my early days as a collector. Between 2001 and 2010.

But there should be 2 different no coo of this one, they look a lot the same it is only some of the ..... around the I in GMFGI that is placed different. But maybe you can ID it with the stickers. Since the stickers is on that part of the body where the coo and no coo is. There is several sticker variants and maybe 1977 r2 and sensorscope r2 and pop-up r2 do not have the same sticker variants :?

I found a little bit of stickers here for you https://forum.rebelscum.com/showthread.php?t=1119149

and some more here https://www.starwarsfigurevariations.com/r2-d2-coo-sticker-variations/

But I am also sure that today there is maybe more sticker variants that have been id since this guides, I must admit I have not checked my own sticker yet
