There all came from a bad patch of plastic forming and were thus treated as rejects as they went grey pretty quickly that is all.

There white on the inside they've just turned grey on the outside.

Interesting curio

Are there other figures with contrasting limbs similar to this Hoth Stormtrooper?

Would loose figure collectors class this as a variant?

100% agree. It's from a spanish mold. None of these gray limbed has been found in spain, so probably a batch that was shipped to UK, rejected, and sold by some former empolyee. So it probably having some value, but people are selling these as possible first shots, pre prodcution pieces, which I think is wrong. Palitoy certainly did not have the spanish molds and did test shots themselves.

Sadly, I think the people who are paying ÂŁ500 for one, do not do so because it's a bad batch of plastic.

Pretty sure these must've made their way into the Palitoy factory shop. All sorts of rejected stuff ended up in there. I remember seeing quite a few of these over the years in the 90's. There were plenty around back then.
