Intoduction..... Updated list in first post 05/11

Hi guys, my first post here, but hoping to become a regular so bear with me......

I recently bought some guys lifelong collection from ebay for a substanial sum, with the aim of reselling and turning a profit. Me and the wife have been talking for a while about job lots, shares, anything to try and turn money into money, until I saw this collection and figured I may as well stick to what I know (lifelong fan and collector in case that wasn't clear).

ANyway, I travelled from Pembrokeshire to Hull and back, to collect this...a transit van full of stuff



Now I know from browsing that this is primarily a vintage collecting site, so I won't talk about the lifesize Jar Jar....however the life size Salacious Crumb or Ewok (which looks a lot better in real life than in the following pic by the way) may be of interest to some ;-)



The item that convinced me was the pre-school Ewok treehouse....it's one of those items I knew existed but had never seen it on ebay.

But looking through the crates and crates of loose figures, there are lots of vintage figures, some of which (especially cape-bound figures like Leia, Obi-Wan, Tusken Raider) are in damn good condition!

So before I post a list, I just thought I'd ask.........was this a good move? Or can I expect to get divorced? ;-)

Even though there looks a lot of modern in the picture, that is a fantastic sight, a van full of Star Wars.

You should speak to our resident Collection Buyer Itfciain, he buys collections all the time so will be able to guide you in what the best way to sell will be.

Oh, and the vintage figures may be more complete than suggested, I've got tubs of weapons and accessories to match to the correct figure. It's like the worlds hardest jigsaw puzzle

Can i be the latest person to say wowsers a van full of Star Wars stuff but i can only hope it's got a lot more gear left in it than the things you've just listed cos' i would be worried if not. Sorry to appear negative but, as a modern collector aswell as vintage, that's my honest opinion.
Obviously some of the vintage stuff you wrote about earlier sounds encouraging enough tho' but 3 grand is a hell of an investment to make a profit when most of the stuff purchased is modern :?

Can I also ask a few questions for the general forum regarding grading? It's not something I know a lot about. I sold my entire vintage collection about 8 years ago (which was substantial, and one of the most fun days of my life when it was finally re-acquired from my dads attic (not the selling by the way, that was several years later. I focus on the books and the comics now).
So when it comes to grading figures I'm at a loss. All I know is that some of the vintage figures I now have are in bloody good condition. The R5-D4, R2-D2 (with sensorscope) and Princess Leia in particular.
Is there some sort of official grading process, or is it simply by eye?

I can't help you on the grading front but i'm sure someone will dish out the right advice in die course.

Forget about the attacktix stuff for me then matey. I am interested in some modern ships and/or playsets tho if the price is right and depending on wether they've been opened or not. The clone wars ship sideways on top i also noticed could be good for me but whatever you decide to do, good luck with the sales and if not to me then gimme the ebay links :wink:

You'll do well to get more than £3.00 each if they are weaponless - unless they are the last 17 figures
