Evening,I was wondering if anyone knew what the value was of a original star wars c style one piece poster,it has no pg box and is in near Mint condition with only a couple of 3mm nips on the bottom edge,it has some yellowing on the back but it's been always rolled up and more importantly it has no hair line on r2 d2 front leg and no hair line on leia arm ,also it came also with the same picture poster but in the most bizarre Asian or funky weird language like a cross between Russian and Indian? it has no fox studios or anything like a cinema poster but is much much thinner paper than the c style poster, it has yellowing on the back and is also mint condition, it's a third world country quality cinema poster but is amazing looking,it also says what looks like world war??? I'll get some pictures up tommorow,if anyone can help ,would appreciate.

That is odd

The closest language I could find that seemed to have match was a Tibetan language.

There are lots of other languages on that site to have a look through.

Sorting out the country might at least be a good starting point

Crazy...but cool

There are languages written right to left, but I'm no expert,
Urdu, Sindhi, Punjabi and Arabic for example.

Be interesting to see what this is

Hey just reading this.
Kinda cool, this is like a detective job :)

Obviously the language is key, once you/we work out what country it is from then we can work out if it was produced under official licence or is just a period unlicensed production which it may be. As an image I can find no reference to images that reference 'The war of the world' and that is interesting.

I might snap a screen shot and ask a few people I know, they may recognise the variants.

As for value until the above are answered then there is no point trying.

A challenge :)

Ok
No punt on value but I sent a screen grab over to an expert and he has come back with the following statement.

'This is the Thai poster. They usually measure 21" x 31" but this isn't always a hard and fast rule. Can't tell you what paper thickness should be but thin and cheap paper stock is generally more typical of genuine posters because these are just advertising materials whereas repros designed for sale to the general public more often use higher quality, thicker paper stock. Most posters were single sided prior to the 1990's so this isn't significant.

I suspect this is almost certainly original, unless it's an obvious photocopy, because it wouldn't be economical to fund a print run for a high quality bootleg for a non-US/UK design.'

So a genuine Thai poster it seems to be.

Aaah Thailand!! Thank you :D Yes it's piss thin paper its also larger than the sizes stated, it's in mint nick no tears surprising how thin the paper is ,so do you have a ball park idea of what it might be worth?

So a genuine Thai poster it seems to be.
