China Raised Bar Figures:

Three of these figures at present.

IMG_20140220_224630.jpg

As discussed before, similar to the 3 Line Hong Kong Figures. Date stamping is either High or low on the leg.

Picked up a new CR/B figure today. Lower date stamping on leg. However, a different leg colour to the previous Lower date stamp figure I had.... :D Much Lighter colour finish.

Dark leg and Light leg L-R

POCH...??

Time for a quick update. Picked this figure up last week. Was a bit of a bargain at under a tenner. Arrived today, It's a 3 line, Hong Kong figure which I was happy about anyway. The first thing I noticed was the distinctive 'melt mark' on the rear of the figure. It looks very much like a factory error. Not one single other luke farmboy figure in my collection, 26 at present, has this.

The second thing is the very sloppy paint work on the legs and hands. Discussed further on. The colour of the legs is also quite different from the other five 3 line, Hong Kong variants i currently have. I will try and get a comparison picture up asap

These few pictures show the very Sloppy paint on the legs and hands. Looks almost hand painted. There is leg paint on the torso and also what looks like pink hand paint on the body of the figure.

As shown above here is the paint splashes highlighted on the body of the figure. Also shown here is the plastic mould extrusions on the hand. This also features on the shoulder.

The final unusual aspect of the figure is a small rough patch on one side of the figures face. Haven't seen it before? Similar to the rough patch found on the heads of the Dark brown hair figure...

I'm no expert on this matter mate, but it certainly has all the characteristics of a Poch, the only thing to me that doesn't look quite right would be the hand colour? If it is, that is an awesome pick up, to my knowledge they rarely come in such good condition and if confirmed it be a valuable figure.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I've not had mine confirmed yet, but hoping to to get a thread going over on the imperial gunnery forum this weekend.

You checked Wolff's guide out? http://swspaceclub.com/wbobafett/poch-variants/luke-farmboy/

Also these two links Walkie posted are an excellent read -

Hi Aaron

Thanks for the input. Yeah I checked out the links above. I'm still not sure?

It has so many of the characteristics of the poch figure

1. "Melt mark" on the mould like Poch II in the guide.
2. Sloppy paint application.
3. Some plastic mould extrusion.
4. Hong Kong variant.

Interesting to see if anyone can confirm.

Took a few shots of my 3 Line, Hong Kong figure variants.
Here's the 6 figures. Most recent addition is at the front. Noticeable difference in the leg colour compared to the other figures

Here are my 3 Black face paint figures. Latest addition is marked No.2 here. Leg colour is a lot darker as can be seen here.

Finally a comparison shot of the latest figure, on the right, alongside a similar 3 Line, Hong Kong figure, high date stamping. There are a number of different aspects about the figure. First up is the distinctive melt mark on the back of the figure. Next is the "sloppy" paint work on the legs.
Also highlighted is the plastic mould extrusion on the figures hand.

China Raised Bar figures: Update

Received this figure today from Lars. Was delighted to add another loose figure to the collection.
IMG_20140312_155415.jpg

On close inspection I noticed something I hadn't seen before on a China Raised Bar figure. It appears to have a very definite Brown face paint application. All of my other China Raised Bar figures have Black face paint application. Also any others I've seen had Black face paint. I will have to do a bit of research on this to see how common this is.

I have taken comparison pictures with my 2 other China R/B figures to highlight the distinctive difference.

Close up the difference is quite noticeable
