When the world gets me down all I have to do is take look at this thread and I'm smiling again. Top draw purchases.

Here's my first big purchase of 2017.

Poorly listed on eBay, couldn't believe my luck. Collected from the seller today. The bubble is immaculate and card only has minor wear.

Hey guys, Its been a long time since I last had an item to limelight but yesterday I was fortunate enough to meet up with Alex Bickmore who came over from the states to hand deliver the latest addition to the run I have been putting together.

It is an ESB Series 2 Bespin Set Trademark Sample set. The set was used internally at Kenner to identify some potential packaging changes for future reference. It has hand written details on the package which denote character's names which may require "Trademarking".

On the reverse of the set, some of the characters have been crossed out. This is to clarify that those particular figures would not be carried on in the next wave of 3 packs. The figures that are not crossed out appear again on the 3rd wave of ESB 3 packs in 1982. (Leia Hoth, Ugnaught, At At Driver)

The employee has written several times "See Notes" but sadly the notes attached to the box have long since disappeared as they were most likely a small piece of paper lightly glued to that back. (Some of the adhesive still remains)

I was amazed to see this set turn up. I knew of its existence for many years after seeing it in Chris Georgoulias's scrapbook pages. (Dated 1999) It was sold back then by Tom Derby at Cloud City and ended up in a collection in Japan not to be seen for 18 years. Ive attached a link to the page in the scrapbook where the set is featured on the far right.

Enough waffle, here t'is..
