The Ahsoka series hinted at the appearance of an incredibly powerful woman - Abeloth. What if this lady creates Rey's mother? Yes, there are time inconsistencies, Rey's mother should be born before the events of the series, but Ahsoka has already shown the World Between Worlds, which allows time travel, so this problem is solvable. In addition, during a vision in Episode 9, Rey sees herself with a toothy smile, and this may refer to fan art in which Abeloth smiles in a similar way. If Disney does this, it will explain why Rey is stronger than the Chosen One Anakin Skywalker.

Well, as a last resort, you can turn it around to the fact that Rey is the reincarnation of Abeloth, supposedly she was reborn, since she was not killed with the dagger of Mortis.

Write what you think about this theory.

As far as I can remember, Rey's mother was Miramir (played by Jodie Comer), who was a junk trader, married to the cloned son of Palpatine (who wasn't force sensitive).

My theory is that Miramir is not a simple woman, because Abeloth was involved in the process of her creation. Perhaps Miramir was blessed by Abeloth or was artificially created by her in order to later be reincarnated as a descendant of Miramir. This would explain Rey's power, that she is stronger than the chosen Anaken Skywalker. I want to say that Abeloth could be Rey's grandmother, just like Palpatine is Rey's grandfather. This is shown schematically in the picture I have added.

I hate to say this, but I agree, there is no reason - I think they (Disney Execs - Marketeers) thought it would be cool and they wanted a more female centric story so they ran with it. Zero thought was given to the lore, history, mythology etc. so any fan theory is just that, a theory.

To be honest I hope they (Disney) don't try to shoehorn a backstory for all that into anything - best let bad storytelling be and move on.

There is a simple answer to why Rey is so powerful - Kathleen Kennedy and her force-d female first agenda.

She wanted Rey to be stronger and better than any man / male creature of any species in the entire SW universe.

The Rey trilogy did exactly what Kennedy wanted and she even stated as much, I quote Kylo Ren "Forget the past, kill it if you must".

She wants to completely dismantle everything we know and love about SW and replace it with her a-gender political bullshit.

Have you ever seen the picture of her and her cronies wearing that slogan T-shirt ? It tells you everything you need to know about her and her plans.

That T-Shirt was a Nike tie-in, which they asked her to do because of her SW connections. There was a very obvious tie-in opportunity to be had.
