Now I have finished my loose set a while ago (apart from VC Jawa) - I am quite tempted to get the Droids and Ewoks figures but they have never really interested me especially as I cant remember them from when I was a kid...what to do, what to do...

I've always liked the r2 and 3po but the rest don't really do it for me - but if you are a completist then go for it :D

I take it you are on your hols now - teachers

haha, Hi ya mate, yes I am on holiday now, just the 5 and a half weeks though, bit of a disappointment this year!

as for the figures, I'll probably pick them up as and when I see them for a good price, there's no rush, I have enough things to buy at the moment!

Teachers over here are off from end of June until end of August, 9 weeks holidays..................

I was thinking of going for Droids and Ewoks once I complete my (second) loose set.... just need Snag and Jawa, and possibly the hollow cheek Tusken.

I only have vague memories of seeing Ewok toys in shops but i never owened one. I do have both films tho... sadly.

You don't admit to things like that!
Collecting kids toys from 30 years ago, is fine. Cross dressing is even tolerated (if you're Browny), but owning the Ewoks films.......................................

i was talking to a friend about getting the ewok and droids figures but i am even worse the the guy whos got the ewok films i have them both and i got the full dvd of the droids and ewoks cartoons as well i have only got to get 3 more figures to end my vintage set so just thing what to do next

Get 'em! Look how nice they look in the collection! 8)

I suppose it depends on whether you consider yourself a hobbyist for nostalgia reasons only or whether you just love the hobby for what it is and collect what you like. I think most people have items in their collection that they didn't originally have as kids so its no crime adding some ewoks and droids.

even at this early stage i am what you would call a purist, "if it aint in the origional 3 movies,,,, its pants"

Its mainly due to not really having to have "all" the toys related to the movies, no matter how slim the association. i never saw droids or ewoks cartoons when they were out so they dont do it for me.

plus by then toy companies were really starting to milk it and were really taking the piss.

but what ever greases your monkey?

hey i dont even like the rebels, i am apathetic about droids, and cant stand the ewoks. but when the imperial army is done i may start with the standard loose.

a herd of AT-AT (the correct pural) and enough stormies to kill a medium sized horse and i will be happy (they will not be used for that purpose).

eventually my door bell will play the imperial march
