Hi guys can any of you help with tips how to spot a recard or a custom card that looks like a original moc ?

I have just received this moc, but I was surprised to see a big paint damage or error on the left hand and wrist. Could this moc be a recard and how do I spot it ? there is a very little crack at the top of the bubble, but it is not big enough to take the figure out and back again.

Seal looks ok (maybe get better close ups of the seal around the bubble). Paint errors and damage do occur even on sealed figures. The factories made many eroors on the paint jobs. As far as scuffing on a figure...the tri-logos had huge bubbles which tended to give the figure alot of room to bang around inside.

Hi here is a better picture of the bubble and the figure with the paint error or paint damage on the hand.

So how do you do it and what do you look after to see if it is original ?

looks good to me the bubble is abit bigger on tri's so he justs got wear and tear rattling around over the years i reckon

Glue residue, repairs, tearing, repro bubble, wrong footer, no footer, wrong bubble, worn figures, dirty figure, repro weapon, tape used on tri-logo weapons, weapons mis-placed in packaging, no inner tray when figure is supposed to have one...................it can go on.

Thanks, sounds like many things to look after.

Any pictures of a recard ?

To me it seems as though the paint or lack of it on the hand was probably done before it went in the bubble. If it occured whilst in the bubble you might expect to see more evidence of the paint rubbed onto the bubble.

You can see where his nose paint has rubbed off a little on the inside of the bubble flr example.

As for whether it is a recard I'm.not sure.it doesn't seem to be but like the guys say closer up pics of the seal would be good to try and help.

Thanks guys, is the closer up pic not close enough ?

Hello! I'm new to this forum but have been on others for five years now. I have been collecting trilogos as my major focus. I'd be very confident to say that this is NOT a recard. The damage is far too conspicuous for a recarder and would not make a convincing fake. The damage most likely being caused to the hand in the factory, whilst the general scuffing is from rattling in the packet - you must understand cardboard is actually highly abrasive. Remember pretty much all- mine included- pretty much all trilogo imperial dignitaries have their nose paint worn down, inside the bubble.
The bubble is the correct size, and the bubble won't have a 'waffle iron pattern' as most lines do. I'm still not sure if the trilogos are heat sealed/ melted to the card or if they were glued or a combination of both. However if you were to fake this, I have seen people use a hobby glue or double sided tape. Tape is easy to spot as it leaves tell tale signs on the corners. If it were recarded with hobby glue, you'd be able to tell under a black lamp, if not with the naked eye. And the biggest 'giveaway' is often the card - the card shouldn't smell of fresh ink should it?

Also remember that these bubbles are never very square, seems that these bubbles were vac-formed in groups and cut out with scissors.

The picture you've supplied is a 100% factory seal and not tampered with or recarded.

What are those darker areas down the left hand side of the Bubble?

I do not know, I am not the expert. Hope some of you know it :?

Could be glue marks. Need a better close up on that area.

When I touch the darker areas then they move, could it be the paper on the cardback that has lifted ?
