Actress Kirstie Alley has died, aged 71. She was probably most famous for starring in the hugely popular TV sitcom 'Cheers', as well as playing Vulcan Starfleet officer Lieutenant Saavik in 'Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan'.

A very sad loss. Rest in peace.

Another Major Actress has passed away. Thanks Kirstie Alley for your great work.

Here is the movies and series I have seen with her, she was great in all of them. The best ones are Runaway, Sibling Rivalry and Shoot to Kill.

I would never wish death on anyone, and I do think it is sad she has passed away, but she was a high level Scientologist and that needs to be addressed.

Scientology teaches that once you reach a high level you can't get cancer. Genuinely. "Auditing" cures or makes you immune from cancer.

Either she wasn't high enough up in Scientology, and they do seem to like promoting famous people very quickly (nothing to do with using their fame and recognisability to suck in more people, and definitely not cos they have the money you need to get promoted), or…….

But... that makes it sound like Scientology might be... bollocks!

Wow I did not know that she was scientology, but then again I have not seen anything with her or heard about her since the late 90s

Her, John Travolta, Travolta's wife (who bizarrely also died from the cancer she should have been immune to), and Tom Cruise.

Scientology is a VERY VERY dangerous cult. You advance up the ranks by paying for 'Auditing' and various other nonsense things. Any "religion" that demands money to promote you up the levels should set alarm bells ringing. But then they do have a very strange habit of targetting the vulnerable and the lonely. OBVIOUSLY it's just cos they care so much and are keen to help people.

It's only once you reach the top few levels that they tell you the whole belief system of their "religion". By which point you have invested millions of Pounds and or decades of your life. So when you find out they believe we all carry things called Theatons in us, which were created when the losers of an intergalactic civil war were dropped into a volcano and blown up with nuclear weapon (I **** you not)……you are faced with the prospect of either going along with it or facing up to the fact you wasted a huge chunk of your life and fortune.

Their beliefs read almost exactly like you would expect from some one who writes Sci Fi. Purely a coincidence that the founder of Scientology, L Ron Hubbard was a Sci Fi writer. And the fact he said "If you want to get rich, found a religion." Before ehhh going on to found a religion, is just a coincidence.

If you are bored some time and fancy a laugh do Google what Scientologist believe it truly is bat **** mental. It makes 'created by an invisible sky fairy who impregnated a virgin' seem highly plausible.

So sad. I loved her in Cheers. I saw her in an episode of the Goldbergs the other day - with 3 other characters from Cheers.
