Lighting for Display Cabinets

I'm having a look at a few shop-type glass display cabinets at the moment to put all my MOC's in. Most of them seem to come with small halogen spotlamps that you can aim at whatever you put on the shelves.

Does anyone know whether halogens are particularly harmful to cards/bubbles? I wasn't sure how much UV they emitted. They probably won't be on too often and most of my figs are in UV resistant cases but just wondered :?

i think as its iredecent there is no U/V emissions BUT as you know halogens give off quite a bit of heat

I'm having trouble finding anything cheaper but I suppose decent, well made furniture doesn't come cheap :roll:

Theres a good choice out there for sure, prices vary so much its just weird.
When i was researching glass cabinets 18 mths ago i settled on these two from a display outfitting store based in Devon.
Lights werent inbuilt and i found that really helped keep the prices down.

Ive got 8 ikea lights sitting on top of the cabinets, bit crude but they do the job. Lights are not on long enough at anyone time to be of major concern to the MOCs, well i hope so anyway.

Not quite the same cabs Jim, different company i got got mine from but yeah, basically the same thing and you can see how no inbuilt lighting bring the costs down.
