I have read EU stories for example where a Sith Lord spirit ( like the obi wan and yoda and anakin) feeds of the power of turning good people to bad thus becoming "reborn"

As a Jedi dies and becomes part of the force......does a Sith. :?:

How about the essence of the Sith in lost Sith Holocron and a new emperor

In the EU books while Yoda was on Dagobah he had a massive battle with a Sith, which resulted in the cave which Luke fought himself was ooozed in the Dark Side. Which is why Luke ended up fighting himself...........

Be good if they followed that or included it within Yoda's adventures!

It's virtually impossible to think the Emperor did not try to clone himself. However, could he clone the midichlorians? If he could then an army of Sith Stormies would be scary.
The Rule of 2 was consistently broken, also by Sidious. It is likely that Sidious, or even Vader, left behind a half trained apprentice

Again it leaves the problem can force users be cloned as force users. I like the idea of being able to leave your body and enter another as a means to preserve your life better than clones.

One thing is for sure - R2 and 3PO will be in it. Star Wars without those two is like a fat bloke without man tits.

In Dark Empire 1 and 2 the Emperor is coming back as a clone and Luke turn to the Dark side just like his father did.

Which is why I don't think Ep7 will be like this because the casual film goer will complain its just the prequels again with Anakin and Luke in reverse.

Yoda, Vader, Obi Wan, Fett and The Emperor need to be left the **** out of it.

Luke would be the only plausible known character to be the bad guy otherwise it needs to be a totally new character. Perhaps a Jabba style storyline where the is no "big" dark force (it's been done) but instead a smaller bad guy doing something bad.. somewhere... not thought it though. :? Perhaps holding sway over a planet rather than a galaxy.
Another idea may be to have a new rogue Jedi training up a new group of Jedi but doing it "his" way thus creating a new fraction of Sith.
There are a thousand ways to go with it but my fear is dragging up old characters out of laziness and going with a generic predictable 'big battle' focused story that we've seen before. For me it has to be something new from a different angle or it will fail.

Yoda - yes. Didn't really like the character anyway
Vader - definitely yes. Game over for Vader
Obi-Wan - job done. No need to come back
Fett - love to have him back but not as a *****. A proper bad ass who has no loyalties.
Emperor - he could come back but not as the all powerful Sith. He's been defeated therefore the mystery has gone. Could he come back as a clone and be frustrated with his lack of force power?

Others - there certainly could be a faction of baddies. Rogue Jedi is obvious but how about the criminal bosses on revenge for Jabbas death? Black Sun? Whoever is the highest commanding Imperial Officer as a non-force user but military genius (too Thrawn I suppose)

I think this has to be the Yuuzhan Vong, you get scary bad alien race trying to destroy the galaxy with shape shifting skills, always good for film drama. Plus if you follow the EU thread you get Darth Krayt and we all know who he really is/was (no spoilers so I won't say)
