I've read about the 2 line coo Luke's being the first figures found on Kenner 12 backs and have always agreed with this because of the SW-a Baggie with the same coo and a DT saber.

I've also read that Palitoy have the same figures as Kenner but the more I look at Palitoy 12 backs they have the 3 line luke?

I know there's 3 line COOs with DT sabers also found on Kenner 12 backs but can anyone tell me what cards they are found on and is that the Circle variant DT there packed with, which of these figures came first or where both factories producing figures from the start?

Since there were 5? Taiwan 12 back figures ( A as well?) I think there is no 'first' factory. Early bird kits had more than one baggie type? And there are for sure more than one CoO for baggied early bird figures ( & more than one weapon ie. round vs square trigger guard bowcaster) and at least 3 (maybe 4) different hangtab punches on 12As all this IMO means more than one factory/production line making these at the same time.

shows both Taiwan & Hong Kong Enginnering Pilots so I'm assuming both factories produced them concurrently- sent them to Kenner for 'sign off' & they then went into production.

Thanks for the reply James, the Taiwan 12 backs are a strange one for sure, are those the same figures that are found in the Taiwan baggies as I always thought those where ROTJ era...

When you say there's more than one coo and weapon variant for the the early bird figures, is that for each baggy type? I've seen them mixed with Baggies.

I agree that there was more than one figure factory making the figures at that time but I'm not sure how many, some of the punch holes are the same as latter card backs with factory codes seem likely to me that there the same factory.

Is there more than the 2 COO's found on the 12 backs, what about the other 2 line luke with the small copyright? When did he come in to production?

I was qurious about the timing as I wasn't sure about the time difference between the SW-a and SW-b bags, the latter are the same as Palitoy and isn't it believed that Palitoy where slightly behind Kenner in production?

SW- A with round trigger guard therefore not green

I've made the observation that early in the production of the early bird kit, the COOs of 3 of the 4 figures changed. In fact, I've seen three variants of the Chewbacca COO in this kit alone.

Thanks,

Tom

3 COO's means there is at least 3 factories producing figures right, maybe the 2 line luke with small copyright and the rest of the coos produced from that factories for there 12 backs? The blaster with that SW-a chewy also fits in with A and B bags being different factories.

It's also my opinion that all the factories where making a lot of the same mistakes early in production, I have 4 different rebel Blasters that are green but none in my baggies, also a V1 or 2 Leia blaster that's green that's different to my Palitoy k so think it's might be what's found in the SW-a bags. I don't know

Edit, when I say mistakes I should have probibly said variants, DT sabers, brown eyed before black, green before blue/black accessories ect ect....

The 3 CoOs Tom refers to may only be 2 factories ie. one mould pair & another one which logically would mean there is a fourth - 2 mould family pairs. But I'm not sure if he's talking about the same baggie type. And as we discussed about baggies recently we can't be sure where they came from.

Agreed but I'd still like to see the theory proved or disproved so I can stop looking at it, I'll add all my baggies and if anyone can show us a picture of a different figure on a Palitoy 12 back or in a SW-b or d baggies then it would at least prove the amount of COO/factories involved

11 of the 12 Palitoy Compitition figures, the other was a VC Jawa and thanks to rich for letting me add them here..

Here's some more pictures of SW-a, b and d baggies from Franks guide if anyone's interested, I'm convinced now that there two different factories but please make up your own minds. If you ask me there Kader figures in SW-b and d and Unitoy in SW-a, if you look at the flat tip transition sabers in the SW-a and round tip transition sabers in the b's and d's
