I think its fair to say that the chaps on the Vintage Rebellion Podcast do a simply fantastic job of delivering fun, facts and more often than not frivolity as well as a wholesome selection of special guests each and every month.. but despite my initial listens concluding in thoughts of "how bloody long is this thing" or "will they ever finish this episode", I now spend most of the month thirsty for more and am spending more time listening to podcasts than music in the car to and from work or on the various lengthy journeys that I do with work or my running. The lads either need to start doing one a week (and I expect give up working to devote that much time!) or I needed to diversify...

So, I have more recently been exploring other Podcasts to compliment the Vintage Rebellion.

Here's the two I now actively listen too and that I'm currently working through the back catalogue of:

- The Collectors Galaxy - a fun US based listen that covers all manner of toy and general collecting in the Star Wars world(s) including of course vintage as well as a healthy amount of modern too. I have now listened to the entire archive of back episodes...

- The Star Wars Collectors Archive Podcast (also collocially referred to as the Civecast or Vintage Pod, but that's not much help on Apple Podcast searches) - Really a very good US based vintage only compliment to the UK's Vintage Rebellion. I'm only 6/7 episodes into the back catalogue, prices are hilarious given how old the earliest episodes are, but the knowledge available is unbelievable!

I expect at my current rate of consumption (and cross country travel), I'll be through these all soon enough.

Any other recommendations for other forum members?

Rebelforce Radio is fantastic - particularly the Star Wars Oxygen shows where David Collins disects the music form the films. Definitely worth listening to their back catalogue. Its very polished but doesn't often go into toys. I enjoyed listening to the old spoilers for TFA, many were way off the mark.

If you like modern toys the the Jedi News Network collectors cast episodes are good

Othewise i listen to Blabba The Hutt and Star Wars Bounty Hunters Collectors Podcast, which have thier good points but are less polished than some out there.

Star Wars 7x7 is often good but I find a 7 minute podcast a little too short to listen to casually as I often miss what the podcast is about

I'm loving Adam Buxton's podcast too - well worth going through the back catalogue.

The only other podcast I also listen to is Rebel Force Radio and their Oxygen show, agree with all the above and it's a lot of fun to listen to even with their couple of advertising drops that they have to do. The other ones people have listed sound interesting as well so I'll give them ago in-between shooting my frames.

it is funny howe a lot of us thought that the vintage rebellion was a bit long to start with and now feel that the longer the better, keep it up lads as the UK podcast is still number one :D

I too have been choosing VRP over my usual other forms of entertainment recently-I just love it :D

Will have to catch up on some of the other podcast shows.

Wow :!: Don't tell me audio is taking over visual

Good shout. I'm on the road all day and always after stuff to listen to. Will check em' out!

You need to listen to arsecast too Andy - Arsenal and laughs but in a good way

Cheers lads- this months has been a disaster that needed a second recording.

I LOVE the David Collins parts of Star Wars Oxygen on RFR.

Galaxy of Toys has some fun vintage episodes.

Anyone know of any cracking non-star wars ones? Anything on Astronomy that's understandable?

Another fan of Star Wars Oxygen here. I'm still reeling at their revelation that you hear the Imperial March at the start of ESB.

My Star Wars story can be good. Each episode a known community member tells his history with Star Wars from childhood onwards.

Non SW: It will depend on tastes of course. I follow the Empire Podcast. To me, the best one for movies and big laughs.
I'm a fan of Bond so I listen to the Bond Cast, also with Jason Swank and Jimmy Mac.
And also I listen to pretty much everything about acting, directing and screenwritting.

Star Wars in character is very silly but I love it. They have recently appeared to be a bit self referential and it dipped in content, but now back to the crazy discussions (stick to the format..) They essentially take a random character from star wars, find out as much as they can, then talk **** for about an hour and have a quiz at the end. Its funny.

Bald Move Network are two guys who cover tv shows like Walking Dead, GOT. They are amusing and not afraid to spell it out. Worth listening to straight after you've watched the show.

Steve Glosson's Geek out loud podcasts are good. Hes mostly a one man show but does delve into other areas with people from the RFR network. I avoid the wrestling stuff and do enjoy when he just geeks out with Marvel or transformers or star wars. He's got a goofy deep south USA accent and sometimes will defend utter crap but he's got a certain manner.

The Ihnatko Almanac. Bit of a geek show, but i think its coming to an end. Shame.

The two guys at Pod Stallions really know their vintage geek friendly TV and film. Each episode tackles a vintage series, film, artist or TOY LINE. :D Really informative guys.

And its the only place you'll hear North Americans say they mix up Irene Handl with Pat Coomes. They know their UK stuff too.

That sounds good - are they the plaidstallions guys?

Here is a review of four of them out there that I did a few months back - should be a guide hopefully:

I would add the Collector Galaxy Podcast to that list too. I don't believe they were around when I did the article. The hosts really love vintage and are very entertaining. You won't be blown away with info you didn't already know, but they do a good job of mixing vintage and modern.
