Hi folks,I have a pre certificate vhs copy of StarWars I was considering selling.I've collected pre cert and video for a while but mainly horror and gore titles.I was just wondering if this would be worth any thing or of any interest to anyone?
Thanks

Unfortunately Nick's right. There was a time in the late 90s (between the time the original videos were "deleted" and they were reissued in about 2000) that these were fetching over 100 quid. I remember going to dozens of video stores in london trying to get hold of one cheaper but £60-£70 was about the cheapest. But since they were reissued and then DVDs came about (followed by Blu-Ray), VHS value has dropped to almost nothing. A few rarer VHS titles are still worth money but for the reasons just mentioned Star Wars is not one of them. Just too much available.
Your only hope is to save these another 10 years when VHS MAY become collectable again tho that is only a maybe and a fairly big one.

lol I thought that might be the case,I get good prices for some of the 80's vhs "nasty" stuff,Wasn't sure about this one.I'll stick it on ebay see what happens,if not the bin.

Yeah I know Iv'e been trading horror pre cert and vhs for a while.Usually amongst other vhs collectors and there is a big market for all sorts of titles just wasn't sure about this one. Thanks 8)

Wow. Congratulations. I had no idea these were worth anything at all, let alone that much!
Apologies for the miss-valuation. Seen dozens of SW VHS for sale on ebay go for around £1-£3. Never seen one go for even a fiver. I guess the pre-cert thing must be very collectable.
You learn something new every day.

lol No worries man! I didn't expect to get that much either! :| I figured it might be worth a little more than the first certificated releases, and I hadn't seen that version before so figured maybe it would have some collector value but yeah I thought maybe a tenner or something.

Damn,and i tried snagging it cheaper :D

Congrats buddy, these are by far THE rarest SW VHS videos around and arent like your run of the mill mass produced shite from the 90,s onwards.I thought this could generate as much as £30-£40 but wasnt surprised at the final price.

Well done pal.
