Really sad news to hear, one of the great Horror masters who really did change the face of the monster/horror world.

He will be sadly missed but never forgotten.

Very sad news, he was one of the true legends of horror and of course Zombies. Before Night of the living dead all Zombies did was stand around looking bored, they were no real threat - Romero changed all that and made them the flesh eating monsters we love today, and a multi million dollar industry. I remember waiting nearly 5 hours to meet him a few years ago at a convention, well worth the wait. R.I.P. George.
