Anybody collect these?

I've just bought issues 1-89 for £50 (plus got a fan club folder with loads of pics from 1984ish)

Remember my Aunt buying me all these back in the day and looking forward to going through them tomorrow.

Any rarities i should be looking for, The issue 1 still has the free badge selotaped to it 8)

Worthless - I'll give you £60 for them, I'm doing you a favour and you've made a tenner profit :D

Great buy especially with fan club extras, save them for the summer and read each one cover to cover like we did back in the day :D

Not waiting for the summer, got 2 days off so going for it!!

They're in really good condition too, mine got destroyed!

These are great to read. I envy you having the next couple of days to enjoy them. I have the complete set of these along with all the free gifts. They're easy to get hold of without the gifts. The hardest to get is issue 155 which was the last one.
The series continued in Spiderman/Zoids for a few more issues but it was just wrapping up an old story. Of course if you want to be a completist then you'd need to get those as well :)

Was the fan club kit the one with the black folder with the moon of Endor on it?

I collect them, I hope I will soon have them all so I will have all the uk, us and danish star wars comics :D

It is the black folder with the endor moon on. Lots of pictures in it.

Looking forward to getting stuck into them!

I'll never forget that day in 1986 when, out the blue, they announced that this was it's last issue but - not to worry - Star Wars would be the guest story in Spider-Man And Zoids Weekly.

Yes, Star Wars was below Zoids on the bill. Zoids, FFS.

I thought zoids was way better though mate. Great story.

Seems crazy to think that Star Wars had 3rd billing to Spiderman and Zoids.

I'm currently collecting these comics (need to get approx. 15 issues, to complete the set).

As a kid, I collected SW/ESB Weekly avidly, but by the time the ROTJ comics appeared I was losing interest in SW. It's been great fun discovering them for the first time.

As stated, the last 20ish issues are the hardest to track down.

Trying to track down the free gifts is a task in itself which (at times) you'll pay a premium for.
I just need 2 of the Ewok transfers to complete.

Here's a complete issue/free gifts listing....

I was fortunate to collect most of these when they came out so kept a lot of the free gifts. Issue 155 was not delivered by my newsagent at the time and I didn't find out for a few years that it existed! Managed to get the last free gift I needed for #114 very recently by trading with Twin30mm. Thanks again bud!

No worries, Wayne.
Thanks for letting me take that elusive #155 off you :D

I hope this is appropriate for the forum. These things have obviously been long OOP for yonks so hopefully I'm on OK ground*

I collect scans of the UK comics. The US ( full story ) ons are easier to come by, but I'm a nostalgic fool who wants daft old British adverts and the like amongst the serialised stories. I've managed to get all the SW and ESB ones but am finding most of the ROTJ ones elusive - I only have a few of them. I've picked up all the UK annuals and specials too.

They're good reading on a tablet and save on space, obviously. Is anyone else into collecting these?

*If I'm not, let me know.

I'm off to pick them up now, I hope there's some of the free gifts left in them!!

Great stuff. Post some pics when you've got them.
You never know, there might be a little gem hidden within those pages.

I found the C.Y.R.I.L's Star File booklet and Ewok transfer sheet hidden inside some beater issues, from a charity shop. :)

I've got a dinosaur 'flicca-pic' from Kellogg's sellotaped to the front of its issue.

Yes, same here on Issue #89. I've also got the equivalent free gift on my Indiana Jones UK monthly edition for that month - March 1985 :)

Actually the OP can check to see if he has that free gift as #89 is the last one in the batch he's just bought!

I can confirm i have a Rhino/Triceratops flicca/pic on my issue 89 :D

I also have...

001 - ROTJ badge - Still attached
003 - Star Finder chart - no
009 - May the Force be with you badge - no
018 - giant poster (Boba Fett) - no
027 - giant poster (Ralph McQuarrie print of Jabba's barge) - Still in comic!
031 - giant poster (Luke Skywalker and the Rancor illustrated by John Higgins) - I have but loose
050 - C.Y.R.I.L.'S star-file (16 page mini booklet all about Star Wars) - have but loose
073 - giant poster (Star Destroyer with places for stickers given away in the next two issues) - No
074 - Darth Vader and Yoda stickers (for the poster given away in issue 73) - No
075 - Chewbacca and R2-D2 stickers (for the poster given away in issue 73) - No
084 - Zoids pull-out four page comic - still in comic
089 - Kellogg's Corn Flakes Flikka-Pic (lenticular card) - Taped to the front

Just been able to have a quick flick through so far - Almost drowned in nostalgia! He has given me all the original fan club letters as well and a 1984 ROTJ calendar. Love it!
