Scans of Sticker sheets for vintage vehicles

Hi Guys,

I am in the process of getting a few older vehicles back into tip top shape. And the last thing I need is some good scans of the vintage stickers sheets.
I have looked on the web and found a few that are good enough to print out and use, but there is one that I just can't find.

So, does anyone have a good quality scan of the AT-ST sticker sheet?

Cheers

This sort of thing isn't really encouraged or supported on here dude.
Its a kinda, if it aint real it aint real kinda show.

Generally fake/repro/scans/copys (all the same) aren't tolerated and considered as vintage contamination.

Leave it alone mate :)

Jez is right - the problem is that whatever good intentions you may have there are always people out there ready to screw people over. If these repro stickers make it onto vehicles and then end up in the wild then it will be very difficult to determine the difference between repro and real

I know what you are saying guys
But I can also assure you Dave is an honest
guy who enjoys restoring vintage bits for his own
enjoyment.

Thanks bootyhunter :D

No need for them now as I found a good image and have re-created what I need.

The ships I am repairing are junk. They are the sort of thing you would see and stick straight in the bin.
I'll post picks when they are done so you can see a before and after.

Cheers

This photo actually makes the before version look better that it was. It was the colour of treacle.

Just had a look at your youtube videos, I don't know what to make of all these hints and tips showing paint touch up, de-yellowing and how to apply new decals. Makes me worried about buying stuff in the wild.

Jesus wept - this is up there with the repro box crap - why do people feel the need to do this ??

I have always been on the fence when it comes to stickers. So many vehicles have lost theirs and not sure what we would expect to come of these vehicles. It is a hard one. I would not class this the same as the boxes as the unboxed item does not need it's box to be one. I guess this could be along the same line s as repro weapons...but still different as you cannot find genuine decal sheets often.

Things like this have always split the community but personally i think it's alright. Like Dave says, he takes seomthing that looks **** and is no good to anyone and makes it look better. I think we can be a little over-protective of the things hobby sometimes. Pretty much the only [vintage or antique] hobby that exists where people won't accept any kind of restoration whatsoever. Not that i don't get the issues, i do. But when all is considered i think it's not really a bad thing to make old toys look better. Especially for your own collection.

i know its frowned upon in the vintage star wars community and the hardcore collectors have a right to be, but at the same time you do see a lot of vehicles missing stickers and to get hold of the originals is not an easy task, as long as the person doing it when they decide to sell on advertises it with repro stickers then fair enough i guess.

There's lots of areas in this hobbie that are a bit dodgy. recarding figures using mint figures with repro weapons, repro bubbles and repro cardbacks, some using original cardbacks, figures and weapons but repro bubbles??

and quite a few repro blue snaggs and now an awful lot of repro yak figures on ebay also.

I think the problem, like anything connected withe restoring vintage items, is when the go 'into the wild' - however careful you are at selling things on with full disclosure there is no way that you can guarantee that this will happen in the future

I also don't like to see all these video's promoting the touching up of figures -again your intentions may well be honest but there are always those out there looking to scam and make a quick buck

I'm only doing this for myself.

If this was the case you wouldn't need to promote your tutorials on youtube. Instead you are unintentionally giving wannabe scam artists the techniques to defraud people with restored figures.

There are always going to be people trying to scam you no matter what. That's just life.

But I know there are many people out there who like collecting and fixing up old toys.

We don't all have huge amounts of money to spend, and by fixing up and restoring less that great toys you can get a nice displayable collection on a budget.
And it is also fun to bring something back to life that would otherwise be trash. For me the challenge of repairing a well played with toy is something I really enjoy.

The stuff I fix is for my own collection. Anything I sell is all original.

Thanks

How about taking before and after photos and restoration pictures, rather than videos showing the process.

The problem is the knowledge that you are imparting onto other people who do not have the honest intentions that you do.

I work for the electricity board. I can bypass an electricity meter. I'm not going to post a video of me showing you how to do it though.
