Sealed unused vehicles/playsets

Need some advice please. If I brought say a graded 80%
Playset/vehicle sealed. And 5 years down the line the tape dried up and came off .. Would it still be worth as much or decrease the value?
Because I see sealed vehicles/playsets making good money
While opened but unused contents not making as much ?

Don't get it really ?

if it was graded as sealed then it wouldn't lose as much value as you know nobody has opened it, but it would still detract from the value i think.

Yeh it's quite clever sealing up sealed pieces because as said even if the tape pops one would def know the piece has never been opened after leaving the factory so in theory as good as sealed :idea: Also if the tape pops on it's own there prob won't be any box surface damage caused by tape being ripped off etc.
Yeh value will prob drop a little but not too much I think as eventually all tape will prob pop :!:

I personally prefer a contents sealed piece as one can enjoy looking at the contents without changing the status of the piece ie not applying the stickers, opening baggies etc.
