The Youtube channel a big part of star wars content in 4K HDR quality, and released it in many small clips.

This primarily benefits clone wars and rebels, since most other content is either the newer stuff, created in 4K, or the older stuff, like the movies, which were also available on Disney plus at 4K on launch day.

But check out the channel, I think it's a great project, and especially early clone wars looks so much better, despite Youtube's insane bitrate compression.

P.s. If the clips seem a little dark, then turn off HDR on your HDR display, since lower than HDR 1000 lacks the brightness that HDR requires.

Is there genuinely any point in 4k animation bs HD?
Yes there is. Or course bitrate is the most important, as well as lighting, shadows, texture detail, and facial animation, but just look at season 1 og clone wars vs bad batch, only in terms of pixel sharpness, it's a world of a difference. And even upscaling SD content using AI to 8K makes a huge difference, of course also because 8K has much higher bitrate. And the bigger the display or TV, the more important resolution becomes.

And I remember watching the 2nd episode of bad batch, I think it was, on disney plus in 4K on my 4K OLED TV, and there was even some aliasing, like you see in games, and that's got nothing to do with bitrate, and could only be fixed with 8K resolution.

But beyond 8K, unless your taking photos and zooming in, more than 8K doesn't make sense for video content, and you gotta increase the detail, bitrate, or for gaming, add ray tracing to go beyond in terms of image quality.

But a suggestion would be to search for the old republic cinematic trailers on youtube, AI upscaled to 8K60fps, or 8K with HDR. Rewatch these, and it's a night and day difference from the original…
