Hi everyone,I was just reading through one of the posts about the good old days of rummaging through boxes at car boots etc..and how people miss that now that we have ebay to find stuff now.
I remember spending hours looking at car boots to find weapons parts figures anything I could get my hands on.
Just wondered if anybody had found anything recently at a car boot sale that was rare and a bargain?.
Or does it just not happen anymore..

I have went to car boot sale looking for vintage toys. I did put a ad in local free paper a few weeks ago looking for boys action toys from 70-80s

I havent been to one for ages but whe I see a sign I get the urge to call and have a look but I never find anything hehe.
I remember the last good thing I found at a carboot was a luke stormtrooper but that was a good 14+ years ago hehe.

love boot sales but never find anything .got a few he men figure of one lat time and a hannibul from a team

i went to one last year and there was this fat, greesy horrible woman (whanetta slob) selling out of the side of a transit van.....and she had an fx-7 that had its white handle pulled off and a few of the plastic stick type things missing and when i asked what she wanted for it (not that i would have bought it in that condition) she wanted Ã'£5 for it...i nearly pissed myself laughing   twat

I used to get all kinds of deals in the 90s but I hardly ever see any vintage anymore. And like Jabba says its always overpriced.

I recently saw two scout walker shells the seller wanted Ã'£20 for the pair

Anything Star Wars related is overpriced these days. There was one of those Darth Vader Head Silver mugs (by Applause that used to sell for Ã'£3.99 in clinton Cards) at one boot sale.

The seller wanted Ã'£10 for that too, and even told me it would only increase in value

He man classic did you get them at a good price?

think they were about 50p each only got many faces and skelotor and his cat .i was gonna buy some more but he was a gruppy old ****er who wouldnt give me a discount on bulk buy and made me feel like smacking him with his grumpyness

Haven't been to any for years and years. I just don't see the point, the chances of finding anything vintage in remotely half decent condition are minute. In the unlikely event that you do find something, it's gonna be ridiculously over priced (as people have already said). More chance finding something on Ebay that has been stuck in the wrong section or badly described.

Am hoping that the ad i put in my free paper where you sell stuff for boys toys from 70-80s might get me stuff. There is plenty people out there who have all this stuff in there loft and dont go to car boot sales or use ebay for selling stuff

This is the advert i put in my local advertiseing paper
Wanted boys action toys from 70-80s action man,thundercats,he,man,star-wars,a-team. all other toys considered

Hopefully some people will see it and phone me and tell me to come round and rake about there loft. I was thinking what ever i dont want just sell on ebay

The best bargain i had was also heman i got a couple of binliners full of about 30 figures as well as the panther, castle greyskull that horse thing and loads of spare weapons i have sold most of it now but kept heman, skeletor, orco and trapjaw (fave figure) all are great condition with all the weapons etc. I paid the guy Ã'£4 he just wanted shot of it all!!! :D  :D

I am away to look in some 1 loft today some 1 responded to my ad in paper. They told me they got a lot of star-wars figure loose and he-man figures. If i get a good deal off the person. I will post the photos

I got a short mouthed Biker Scout from Memorabilia from a seller who thought it was a normal one. It was in great condition and he was selling it for Ã'£3

I went up to see that person who phoned me to say they had loose star-wars figures in there loft . All he had was 29 loose figures all from ROTJ. He was wanting Ã'£150 for them. Told him i will pass

some people really dont have a ****ing clue do they?

get them to look at ebay and realise that most loose figures are worth a few quid at best!

idiots some people!

He also had quite a lot He-man figures he wanted Ã'£20 for the lot. I looked on ebay last night. People where struggle to sell them. They where only selling for 50p-Ã'£1 each + postage

I bought a boxed hoth monster for £2.50 and a mint stormtrooper for 20p last year. I allways hope to see vintage stuff but never do. Plus carbooting at the moment is a bit cold so i am waiting untill the warmer weather arrives.
