I spoke to the dealers over here and they said they can get a replacement direct from Aston for £320 +VAT, but the insurance company are insisting I go through Autoglass who say they are paying £1k for one, from a "specialist"? :shock:
So rather than buy direct from the blokes who make the ****ing things they are getting some "specialist" to make it and he's charging them three times the price!?

This whole episode is just getting weirder and weirder! :?

In Oz i hear you dont need to an MOT certificate. You can just run your vehicles into the ground.
All you need is insurance and a licsence.

Yep, you can drive a car till it dies in some states- unless the cops pull you over & it looks unsafe. You just need a license, don't even need insurance :shock:

Got the car back today, all sorted. Ended up using the local dealer who worked out £50 more expensive in the end, but at least he knew WTF he was doing. One of the RAC people asked me what make a DB9 was!?
Neither me nor the local dealer can figure out why RAC/Autoglass were so dear, or WTF the insurance company were thinking.
